Anyone experienced this?

What would you do upon experiencing this? Chase corner the bugger? Call the police?

I have a few experiences with my family members being the "victim" but I will talk about the last one only for now...

My 2nd Uncle was on the road awhile ago and going at a reasonable speed on the outer lane when some bengish guy in a "zhnged" civic started coming up behind and highbeaming then tailgating him...as there was traffic in the inner lanes my uncle had to take some time to filter in...when he finally did so...this ass instead of overtaking decided to follow my uncle in and tailgate again...:furious: after some time he decided to overtake and showed the middle finger as he passed...:furious: Furious my uncle started to chase him...and finally they started coming to a junction where the lights were RED...the Civic was the first vehicle and my uncle's soon to be scrapped toyota second... The young bengish boy then looked back with a smirk...:furious: Till.........................................he suddenly feel his car being PUSHED FORWARD by my uncle driving nudging the car forward with his bumper unto oncoming traffic at the junction...:yikess: (soon to be scrapped liao mah knn...) He immediately jumped out and apologised and begged my uncle not to call the police... :laughlik: :screwedu: :nehnehhh:

depend on my mood & the other driver's car .. if no mood then forget it :laughlik:

if he point middle finger for nothing, happen i bad mood :furious: & the other car is less power than me, i will tailgate & high beam for awhile, then overtake him spray my wiper water to clean his car.. :nehnehhh:

if his car more powerful & speed to get away after pointing finger, hmmm nothing i can do haha..

My experience;
A Rav4 using his high beam directly on my rear mirror & tailgate me, so i slow down to road hog him , he overtake & then point middle finger on me, I make a chase & wind down window to ask him stop his car road side! he dun want stop & keep driving away, i chase & tailgate him till he scare & enter a police station haha.. hmmm shiok!

i don't think the police will bother la. i've shown the finger several times but have never been reported to the police before.

else throw a stone/marble at his front windscreen while zooming past lor. (BTW, this is a criminal offence) heehee

in late 90s, a Caucasian woman wanted to cut in illegally in front of my dad, my dad being a very K.L person and driving a "powerful" car refused to let her in...we got to the water fountain roundabout in Suntec and she slowed down tremendously and tried to block corner us...she underestimated the skill of my dad and his car(190E Mercedes-Cosworth 2.3 16V http://www.worldcarfans.com/feature.../mb/mercedes/1986-mercedes-benz-190-e-2.3-16v )...over the roundabout my old man outmaneuvered her and stopped block her on a 1 lane road in Conrad...we got down and signaled her to get down the car and await the police which I had called earlier), she did not dare to wind down her window and after a while proceeded to REVERSE at high speed about 40metres out and "escaped", whom knows what would have happened if another car came along...proceeded to make a complain to TP later by email, a few weeks later an ASP called my dad to ask if he wants to press charges by civil suit(of course no lah so eng meh, don't think we would have bothered so much if its a local,couldnt stand these "foreign talents" thinking they can have their way with us), the lady ASP then said she would 'shoot' the caucasian woman a warning letter (apparently this is not the first complaint, juz lack of evidence prior to it)

as long as there is a complaint, TP will invite both parties to HQ for interview. they will listen to stories from both side then close the case. ha ha.
coz is your story against his. unless you got concrete proof else......... I went for interviews many times liao. ha

The TP even suggested to take out video (meant for traffic watch) to see. yawn. you think they so free mei?

i was running in my brakes late on friday nite....and met a p-plate motorcylist with a female pillion on holland road. he was on the right lane at 50kmh..after following him for 200m and he din pull out i gave him a flash of my lights. bugger decided to hit his brakes...wa lao...i thought i was the one out testing brakes....anyway i went on the left to overtake his 125cc. our friend decided his legs were stronger than my car doors...he jinked left forcing me to cut him on the first left lane. anyway it was fairly close to my home...so after i pulled away i had to turn left into queens close....

i heard toot toot...and looked up to see our friend zooming past and showing me the finger...wa knn...i hot liow...made the uturn and hunted the bugger down. chase him from farrer road and caught him b4 the adam flyover going to lornie.....i boxed him in the the first lane and drove alongside him...gave him enough room....can see our friend in a state of panic...in the end i let him go....siow lang.

I never watch Taxi leh paiseh i should go see if it is...sadly it was scrapped after close to 2 COEs...material fatigue, even with much maintainence by my old...didnt had a chance on it...heh...

I think at the end of the day, it is personality-driven. Why the middle finger was shown by one party or the other must have been caused by an incident that cld have been deliberate or caused inadvertently through a moment of careless driving etc.

When that happens, the other guy may feel offended enough to throw caution to the wind and up the middle finger. If u are at the receiving end of that finger, what u wld do very much depends on your character and the circumstances I wld think. If u feel u were wronged, u might react differently and aggressively. If u feel u might have caused the other guy to show the middle finger, u might apologies. Sometimes, the other guy juz poke u unprovoked but when u stare back, u realise there are 4 bengs in the other car and u are with your family and kids etc so also lan lan.

If both parties stop their cars and come out to "talk", what kind of outcome can there be? Most will back off unless they think they can "makan" the other guy and pursue all actions to the end including commencing civil actions in court.

If not, juz ignore and drive on. The blood pressure will be more stable that way.

Do also factor in whether u are driving a easy to track car with a easy to remember car number etc. The aggressors may track u down and leave scratches on your car on other occassions through his network of frens and car forums etc.

So .... make love, not war..... Peace!

The way I look at it, I am prepared for fist fight IF I give another driver the BIRD. Whether it is legal or otherwise is redundant. Sure, you can give yourselves 101 reasons for doing what you need to do for giving the middle finger, but so could the driver for 102 reasons for his behaviour. It is akin to taking law into your own hands. You bear the consequences, whether or not it is a pure ego trip. But be prepared for the worst - especially if you are the vocal but balls-less type to stand up to a fight. I have seen many of those.

If you are a victim from the BIRD, you can do both. One, you adopt a confrontation approach - "lai, come, one-to-one, you point si mi lan j.....".... we know the outcome. It will be the same as the earlier case. Two, you do some self-reflection. If everyday you receive one bird on the road, could it be that you are a nuisance in others' eyes? If you choose to stay defensive on this "I-not-wrong-wat" mentality, one day you might be a victim of a road rage situation. Yes, you could sue the perpetrators, but in the process, you might be injured. What's the point? What are you gonna gain out of it?

Nicholas - I really like to see how you could make someone cry, if he points middle finger at you...... Not a nice thing to say (if you dun mean it), especially if you could not deliver.
