what to take note on new paintwork?

any tips on taking care of new paintwork?
already made appointment with Spa for car next month.. as they told me cannot polish the car when the paintwork is new...

heard that is not recommended to wash the car nor bringing the car out in the rain when the paint is new.. what other precaution we need to take?

Drive for a couple of months then start going to grooming service...

I think you still need to wash, use 2 different mitts/clothes for washing. 1 for the top half, the other for the bottom half where it's dirtier. And start washing from the hood/top.

This is just to minimise scratches/swirling until u get it properly groomed.

Contrary to you hia-dees, I think the moment u leave the showroom u shld drive straight to get yr paintwork protected by a grooming shop. PPS is best done new. I use those blokes at Studio-12 to do for me. 9 months old now and my paintwork still good as new. *slight bragging*

My advice is do not wash your car too often unless you can rinse the car to ensure that all the fine particles are removed from the paintwork. And when drying the car, use a air blower instead of the cloth. Usually it is the cloth that causes all the swirl marks. Avoid washing the car when it is very hot especially when just parked under the sun.

But anyway, in Singapore when you sell your car, it does not matter whether your car paintwork is well taken care of. Comments?
