Ryan,

Should be Singapore's BMW XXXX with an apostrophe after Singapore to denote the possession of the locality.

Ahh i see.. thanks :)

updated poll options.

Hmm im facing abit of a problem here when it comes to giving the club a "name / motto" in lieu of us having LEGAL problems with PML / BMW.AG.

By giving a name like Singapore BMW Club, it could have a bad effect if we drive into PML workshops with a decal of the forum stating "Singapore BMW Club".

People will really start asking what this club is all about, and whether it is legit. Brings up a big can of worms, something which i can't really say will be "safe". i.e. PML won't sue or shoot a cease-or-desist letter.

Even right now, using the bmw-sg.com address is quite risky. That's why i have disclaimers pasted all over.

I'm leaning towards "Singapore Enthusiast Community" because it sounds more generic(not using any trademark) and we won't be stepping on anyone's toes.

I welcome suggestions and comments on this...

How about avoiding the word BMW altogether, and use phrases like "Home of the Ultimate Driving Machines" or "The Local Bimmer Club?"

I like Ken's idea of " The Local Bimmer Club"....
Or maybe
"Bimmer Club Singapore"

Honestly, PML should highly appreciate what the forum has been "FOC" advertising BMW in one way another for them...they should give priority, when drving into their workshop, to owners that carries the decal than just only giving 7series owners priority...

i dont think PML can deny that the forum brings generally goodwill to BMW's name. if there is any concern about copyright, this can easily be resolved by just writing and seeking clarification from them

And many of us know our cars better than any of their sales staff.. they should employ us to do part time sales and set-up an in-house modification unit. Confirm our expert bros will rake in more cash for them.. kekeke

Definitely....many a time, at PML, have 'convinced' customers to 'take the leap'...kekeke...only bcos I have faith in the marque

But no commission for me :verysad:

That's true. As far as BMW's branding is concerned.

But our objectivity and neutrality act against the distributor's interests to usurp its products and after-sales services.

Radon39,
why dont we work part-time??
kekeke

SMYUEN,

And provide 'extra' svcs at same time like prescribing medication to either the customers or staff :) :)

OK end of OT.

Personally, I like the motto 'SGBimmer Enthusiasts' which is what we are....sth like the Bimmerfan club or Bimmerfanatics

Another would be 'BimmerSGFanatics" :wavey:

I dun think we need to worry about PML on the BMW forum issue.

Afterall, this is a pro BMW forum and not a anti BMW forum. Generally we do not bad mouth the dealer, car etc. This is publicity for them. The more members we have here denote the popularity of BMW in SG.

In fact...we should approach PML and see if we can work out special deals or not. After all, they are losing customers to outside workshops.
