What should I do? Need help ??

This evening while driving back from work, the tyre warning lighted up:furious: . I thought it was a minor problem and I continue driving until I reach home. When I parked the car I discovered that one of my rear tyre was fully deflated:yikess: . What should I do now? I am using the normal PS2 tyres. Can I drive to the nearby tyre shop to mend the tyre? Will it damage the rim/tyre further? Should I do a wheel balancing and wheel alignment after I have mend the tyre? Where should I go for wheel alignment? How much will it cost me? Please help.

Regards

Henry

Ans is no, change to spares if have. If really no chioce, just drive out lor, but i think it will damage the walls of the tires. Erm, if not i suggest using those airman kit. You should have 1 in your car since you change out those run flats right?

And i think wheel balancing and wheel alignment is not absolutly necessary.

Re: What should I do? Need help ??

chances are damage has already been done to your tyre as you drove on them when fully deflated. from a safety point of view, it may not be advisable to "save" your tyres. dont think you can still drive on them to the workshop either..perhaps call the workshop and ask what recommendations they have?

Re: What should I do? Need help ??

Do you have a tyre pump? You can pump up your flat and drive to the nearest service station. Unless the puncture is real bad else my experience is that there'll be enough air in the wheels to last you to the nearest service station..

Hi,

Do Not know the extend of your flat, best way is to get a spare from a friend, change tyres n drive to tyre shop nearest to you for change.

Make sure your friend has suitable spare wheels.

Thanks for all the suggestions. How do I know whether the tyre can still be use? I cannot trust the tyre shop right? They will of course ask me to change to a new one. How much is 255/35/18 PS2? Where can I get a good deal?

Tyres are the only thing that connects your car to the road. Don't stinch on it. Change to your spare tyre, drive down to a tyre shop(Leong Seng, South East, Ray Sport etc) and get it changed. Chances are you've already damaged the flat tyre so don't damage the rim by attempting to drive with it to the tyre shop.

Re: What should I do? Need help ??

Or if u dont hv spare tire, then at least u jack up your car, remove the deflated tire and bring it to the nearest tire shop for repair. I have done this before myself and it's not that difficult after all.

The BMW emergency service offer you an extensive range of benefits that is designed to afford assistance and protection to you, your passengers and your BMW in the event of a motoring emergency. It is one element of our commitment to offering innovative and industry leading products and services.

What do I do when I need assistance?
If you are in any doubt as to whether you require roadside assistance, please telephone BMW Emergency Service Center first. Do not make your own arrangements without first contacting BMW Emergency Service Centre. Contact BMW Emergency Service at 62923166.

When calling, you should be prepared to provide:
Your name and location of your vehicle.
The BMW model of your vehicle- automatic or manual transmission.
A telephone number where you can be contacted.
The registration number and colour of your vehicle.
A brief description of the problem.
Proof of ownership, if requested.
What are the benefits of the Emergency Service?

Home and roadside assistance
In the event your vehicle is immobilised, BMW Emergency Service will arrange assistance for you. Whenever practical, we will always endeavour to arrange for the problem to be resolved at the scene of immobilisation. However if the problem encountered by your vehicle can not be resolved at the scene of immobilisation, we will organise and pay for the recovery of your vehicle to the BMW Service Center nearest to your home address or nearest to the scene of immobilisation, whichever is your choice.

All BMW vehicles within 3 years from the date of first registration are further entitled to the following additional benefits:

Onward Travel
If your vehicle is sent to the BMW Service Centre for repairs following our assistance, we will whenever possible, organise and pay for the transport costs of bringing you to your immediate destination.

Vehicle redelivery
If your vehicle has been recovered under the BMW Emergency Service plan, we will arrange for it to be returned to your home address. Alternatively, if you wish to collect your vehicle personally, we will pay the appropriate transport costs to enable you to do so.

Adverse weather conditions
On those occasions, where adverse weather conditions such as floods, heavy rain, thunder or lighting make it physically impossible for roadside repair or vehicle recovery to be carried out until the weather improves our main priority will be to ensure that you and your passengers are taken to a place of safety.

Lock out keys
Whilst we will always endeavour to provide assistance by the most efficient method, modern security systems sometimes make it extremely difficult for us to gain entry into your vehicle should spare keys not be available. If a forced entry is required, you will be asked to sign a declaration stating that you have given permission for this to take place and confirming that all costs relating to any resulting damage to your vehicle will be your sole responsibility.

Am I able to transfer my BMW Emergency Service membership to others?

The BMW Emergency Service membership is not transferable from vehicle to vehicle but is transferable from one owner to the subsequent owner of the same vehicle.

Cheers,
Hublot
