which is better on e60? 16", 17", 18", or 19" ? considering that i will not lower my ride

considerations would be fc, handling, looks

please advise

Re: What rims for e60?

go for 19" M5 rims

Re: What rims for e60?

What is the budget?

Re: What rims for e60?

Any bros got pictures of their rides with 19" ? any rims or m5 rims?

wanna see if it stands out too much with the car.

Re: What rims for e60?

wow....looks good and not as 'large' as i tot it might be. kinda sits in nicely

What do you guys think of deep dish 19' on e60? will look too weird without at least a M5 bodykit?

Re: What rims for e60?

personally i prefer the pertruding effect, makes it look broader and fiercer

Re: What rims for e60?

First and foremost, size. The e60 is a big sedan, so anything smaller than 19" will be ordinary at most.

Second, FC. Remember - larger diameter is compensated by thinner profile tyres, so the net increment is lesser than you think. What really matter is not to read into the diameter numbers per se, but the overall weight reduction from stock wheels + stock tyres. You can have a 3-inch jump from 16 to 19 and still ended up a lighter wheel setup. Also, light wheel + heavy tyre setup is a pain, since the weight is spread centrifugally at the outermost circumference compared to heavy wheel + light tyres. So, X kg overall is not the same as X kg overall.

Third, lipped design works well on aesthetics only when the offset is aggressive (thicker lip) and if your car is SLAMMED.

Fourth, number of spokes matters in relation to your brakes. Stock brakes, go for multiple spokes, esp huge sedans. Aftermarket BBKs large rotors, or on coupes, can live with lesser spokes.

Re: What rims for e60?

clap clap clap .... good info

i also want to upgrade from 18 -> 19

if the new rim weight and tyre weight is lighter than the current setup = net gain in unsprung weight = better acceleration and better braking ?

the only concern is profile ... 40/35 to 35/30 .... comfort suffer :(

Comfort suffers, but grip improves?

Dun tink so much.....U want pure chio factor then 19" for E9x....

I upgraded from 17" to 20".......FC still the same.......comfort......not much diff as I'm running KW V3....can set softer......

Chio more important than comfort to me.....I love the handling with lower profile tires as I can 'feel' the road more...........

Re: What rims for e60?

is it possible FC from 17" to 20" has no diff?

Re: What rims for e60?

I am on stock 17" with the RFTs. enjoying the 1st 370km so far.

Since reading up on the upgrades to 19", everytime I see the car, the rims look so tiny. Got me looking around the available options.

The forum is poisonous! But... I like...;)

ur 17" are multispoke which actually makes the rims look slightly larger then it shld. quite ok if u ask me.

prob u r trying to justify reason for changing.

Re: What rims for e60?

Go change swee swee big rims once and for all.. Don't think too much about FC.. Once u slap it on.. U won't even notice.. Most importantly got for lighter rims.. Heavy plus big rims will make ur braking suffer.. And its way more importanr than FC or acceleration..

Go for better tires.. Tires is what makes contact with the ground.. Never compromise..

And please.. Don't but replica rims just because its cheap.. Mock meat and real meat taste different.. No matter how much the same it looks..

Nice rims don't necessarily need bodykit.
But if u have bodykit, then MUST have nice rims.

EXAMPLE:
Beatiful girl wearing Versace gown with flip flops will look weird.
Beatiful gal wearing Manolo Blahnik killer heels with pasar malam denim shorts n bikini top will look HOT!!

my views only...... :woottt:
