What parts are need to have SMG capability?

What are the parts I need to buy (other than the M3 steerin wheel and paddles) to be able to have SMG capbility on my E46 318 Cab? How much is the total cost for this mod? Thanks for the advice.

SMG capability? Wah! Adventurous modder! Keep us updated!

I would think you'd need an SMG gearbox, the drive shafts, rear axle, differential, all the links, software...etc. It's a huge job that no one has probably done on a 318. You'd be the 1st!

Steering wheel and paddles would be the smallest things you'd need to worry about...

I think it is not possible at all because that particular smg is only made for the M54 and S54 engines to fit. Hardware already got issue, wait till you go software....

i don't think a retrofit of bmw's SMG is possible. but you could go for a race style sequential gearbox from Quaife or other similar brands. prices start from around 4500USD for a 4speed and north of 6000USD for a 6speed.

Looks líkes it is not so easy and cost too much. Just stick with the standard Steer wheel mod then. Any other parts need for just tiptronic function using the paddles?

plus u dun have to do much to the car liao... probably just change the wheels to 20" ?!!! and u will get a SMGII somemore n no need to MOD until so crazy... swee swee for u!!!
