What is the maximum colour temperature headlight bulb allowed?

I found this Q&A in the LTA website:

Will HID lamps/white halogen lamps cause glare?

LTA : As with other lighting systems, the HID lamp system or whiter headlamps bulbs will not cause unwanted glare or discomfort to other road users if they are properly aligned.

It appears that white halogen bulbs are allowed by LTA as long as it will not cause unwanted glare to other road users and has to be properly aligned.

Any bros can advise on the following:

1. What is the maximum colour temperature of the halogen bulb? Autobacs told me any colour temperature above 4000K would fail. However, some bros here said they passed inspection with Philips DV (5000K)

2. Does the maximum colour temperature apply to both HID and halogen bulbs or just halogen bulbs?

3. What if a inspection centre fails the lighting test for a vehicle (but all other tests pass)? Do we have to go for another retest and pay the associated fee or just a warning but still consider passed? I remember years back my vehicle failed the lighting test (as the inspector claimed that my halogen reflectors had some blue colour reflection although the machine had regarded that the test was passed)

4. A mechanic tried to sell me the idea of installing HID bulbs onto the existing halogen headlamp assembly. He told me should have no problem passing the inspection as there are HID version of E90. Is he telling the truth?

Thanks in advance. :huhhuh:

Tell them to fly kite. Stock xenons are already 4300K.

What maximum? Too bluish/glaring TP buay song will stop you.

I had 8000K bulbs on my E46 cab and it passed the inspection.

It is all about the glare. You can run 8000K and the bluish tint will not get you into trouble if not too glaring. But you could run 7000K and those white rats will stop you if they are too glaring.
