what's that green, orange and red display that lights up for about 5 secs under the mileage display mean?

also, does any of you know how i can get my hands on an e34 owner's manual, online or hard copy?

Just made a trip to Pulai Springs JB, noticed that the temperature gauge runs up very substantially during the Causeway jam on the JB side, and comes down very quickly during the drive on the causeway to singapore - is that normal, guys?

the green orange and red "bars" count down to your next service according to on board computer.

dunno if got pdf version avail online for free or not. u can try looking. if you desperate for the manual, you can buy it from ebay.
do a search for e34 manual

green bars mean you still can drive the car, yellow means get it serviced soon. Red means you are overdue for the service

You can purchase the owner's manual from PML I guess. Its no longer in print so I doubt they have it.

Check your radiator cooling fan and see if its working. In jams the coolent wasn't cooled sufficiently. When you cruse, air flows increases and cools down the coolent, thats why your temp went down. Check the fuse for the radiator first, if not change the relay or connecting ballast. Else replace fan but they are normally very robust.

Here's a guideline to check on temperature problems:
1) Symptoms of temperature rising from 1/2 to 3/4 mark when stuck in jams are signs you fan clutch is not working. Replace fan clutch. Doesn't cost much around $70-$90.
2) If temperature goes beyond 3/4 mark, your water pump is leaking. Check for coolant leaks under the car and in the engine bay. New water pump costs around $100++
3) If you change your fan clutch but still temperature rises to 3/4 mark and during cold start engine warms up very slow, that would be the thermostat failure (stuck open). Thermostat costs around $15.
4) If at high speed travel ur temperature gauge rises and creeps towards 3/4 mark, your radiator is clogged. Flushing radiator would not help because of flakes form inside the radiator tubes, needs rodding or better still buy a new radiator. New radiator costs around $300-$500 depends on engine model.
All parts get from Eng Soon. Happy solving u'r problem.

Know any place I could get a decent and affordable Singapore-compliant tint? Also, My windows currently have a slight tint. Any idea what should I do with the existing tint?
