what causes brakes to make squeaky sound?

my brakes is still quite thick...just being cleaned last week.. but it always squeaks.. its really irritating.. anyone knows whats the cause?..

so fed up that im considering changing to brembo..:furious:

Maybe the discs are too thin though pads might be thick.

went to PML liao..they check they say both are ok... but the sound is really irritating.. :furious:

Hi,

I have the same problem. I just change all my disc+pad, the problem is still there

They said they checked but did they service your brakes?

I had mine serviced by PML before and the squeal went away for 6 mths. But came back again.

Honestly, if you notice, a lot of BMWs and Mercs have this issue. I won't call it a problem though cos the brakes work fine.

What I did to solve the problem was:

1) Warm up the brakes
2) THEN GO "ZHUM" THEM A FEW TIMES and usually it works. hehehe.......

I'm on new pads now and (Touch Wood) no problems so far. But take note to bed in new pads correctly as I believe this contributes to "Squeal Free" brakes IMO......

Squeal during light braking? Quite common especially amongst BBKs.
I've got brembo calipers and pads and they squeal too - I probably didn't bed them in properly. 8-(

Doesn't seem to work leh, bro... ha ha.... anyway, am ok with the squeal as the brembos work much better than my original stock setup.

hm..how much did u get your brembo for? thinking of changing my stock brakes to brembo after its worn out... where did u get it? how many pots?

Err... fyi, I don't drive a bimmer anymore. I have 4-pot brembo front calipers on my Saab. Got them directly from Sweden.
