Water Sprayed into Car during Washing

Just went for a car wash at petrol station and got a shock when water got into the car through the driver door seam near the side mirror.

It was a small spray of water that splattered onto my face and not just a few droplets! I checked all windows and doors and they were properly closed.

I'm driving a F10. Any one experienced the same problem?
Any suggestion on possible causes and remedy?

Can try to duplicate the problem with your CSA and nail the root cause. Bad door seals maybe?

Had contacted my SA and said to bring in my car to pml for 1-2 days.

Also suspect seal issue though only got the car for 1 month plus.

Concern is if pml tell me after the 1-2 days of "inspection" that everything is "normal", then I will need to bring my facial wash every time I go for car wash.

Bro, sad to say, but the truth is that PML's standard FAQ answer is "everything is normal". Just be prepared to stand your ground and also be prepared to bring the car back to the workshop again when you find out that everything is NOT normal.

Bro, I'm riding a f10 too. Surprisingly, maybe majority f10 have this problem that all owners dun realize cos...... No one like you (maybe) bring our 1 mth old baby for carwash in a petrol station. Anyway, thks for sharing.

So u face the same problem?

Petrol station or not, I think it's the water jet pressure that caused this...

Re: Water Sprayed into Car during Washing

Driving a 7 months F10, do not face this problem..

Had been to countless petrol station.. Maybe your window very small
gap and you do not realise at that time ? maybe try using a water
hose spray again, and if water seeps thru, then confirm seal problem..

cheers..

Do you experience it during heavy downpour?

hehe. facial wash choices depend on skin types and sensitivity. if the water volumes are sufficient, you might wanna consider hair wash as well. :)

no. fortunately. i have a panoramic sunroof... if it does rain, it will pour.

Re: Water Sprayed into Car during Washing

I have the same issue. But I have a softtop. Have to ask them to not directly spray the super powerful jet spray into the softtop and Chassis area.
