my weekly sat morning tennis game with my tennis partners,

E90 Volks RE30 meets Golf GTI BBS CH

hope you guys like it. here to share with you my new shoes.

i was early, so decided to take some pictures.

then my tennis partners turn up with his Golf GTI on BBS CH.

waited for this shot to happen, and it turn out well too.

done parking.

after the tennis workout another few more shots.

a good view of the tennis courts and the cars.

special thanks to jack(TripeM) for the advice on the rims and andy(T6) for the tennis game, time for lunch and some relaxing, have a nice weekend and thanks for viewing.

Yes they are staggered 8.5 and 9.5 respectively. Given the clear advantage in the weight savings department, pick up is alot faster vs any of his previous set ups.
Not to mention the handling

The RE30s are staggered, 235/40/18 front/265/35/18 rear, i have been using 18" since i got my car, 3 things i do notice are :

1. the pickup speed from stand still is much much better,
2. rpm on cruising along expressway was lower then all my previous sets of rims,
3. car seems to downshift faster, much more eager to move ahead.

my guess i am saving something about 20kg for 4 rims & tires.

car feels great now.

got another question how do tell which color are my rims ? 'Chrome Silver' or 'Mercury Silver'?

i can't tell the diff by viewing online ? :yikess: they sliver i do know.

how about yours ? which color ?

Thanks TripleM and tbt. Appreciate your feedback. Just that I am now even more confused about changing rims. Should I go 19 or 18, Progressiv ME or what else? and staggered or non? So many questions and appreciate any guidance you all can give. Thanks.

Mine is same as yours. Tho the website says Chrome Silver but it's not quite..
And it's not Mercury Silver like in Prog ME either so bit confused.

Having said that, I have really seen the catalog that shows chrome silver on Golf GTi, now that is even more confusing...si beh luan.

Increasingly people are doing staggered set up so go for it too, next time u can re-sell your rims.
as for 18 or 19...that is up to you. 19 is better for looks but heavier for sure tho not much. Also tires are more dearer in price.

Honestly, 19 will look damn good on the new 3-er.

FYG, 19 * 9.5 is only 10kg!

Yup, my order is for 18" RS10. So Wilman, pls reject these rims keke. Juz kidding, the 19" RS10 is for Alvin666 for his TT. Gonna be a real looker. There will also be another GTI owner running 18" RS6. There will be 3 happy owners tmr.
