Virgin Engine Oil Change

Hi all,

I took delivery of my e92 320 a week ago. Car is 8 months old and runs about 3500km now. I'm thinking of doing an oil change before the 12k mark as per service interval. Please kindly advice which oil is good for a virgin oil change?

I'm considering to get amsoil 5w-40 engine oil from mx trading. How many quarts should I be buying? Is 5quarts sufficient for a 4 pots engine?


Which workshop should I bring to for my engine oil change? How much would labour normally cost for a typical engine oil change?

Hi for a pure oil change, labours is around 30. If you bring yr own oil, some may pay 10 more. Oil filter around 10 too. Rmb to call the workshop if they allow to bring your own oil.

Many workshops allow customers to bring their own engine oil.
BVO, J4C, Extreme autosports and many more.

I personally recommend Liquid moly and Martini Engine Oil (which gives you more power and better FC).

I just did my 1st 8000km service at PML using my own amsoil 5w40 oil. After service, I find the oil a little thick, and making my car feels sluggish. Anyone has a good 0 rating oil to recommend for a 1 yr old 320lci?

i tried

liqui moly 0w40
mobil gold 0w40
castrol edge (bmw recommended) 5w30

all works well with 320i

I like Redline 0W30.

For my e90, around $80 for labour and oilfilter excluding oil.

Air filter can last 60,000 km, Pay Money La say one.

I know it's subjective but is bringing the car in for engine oil change at 1500km too soon as opposed to something like 5000km? Apologies for the noob question.

Yes, + labour + oil filter.
But exclude oil and wiper fluid (which I ask them not to put).

But if your car is out of warranty, do outside cheaper.
Oh btw different car different cost I think, mine is e90....
