Using Original BMW Steering Controls For Aftermarket Headunit.

Re: Using Original BMW Steering Controls For Aftermarket Headunit.

Most shops can sell you adaptors to go with the steering wheel controls and they can provide the aftermarket head unit cover for the dash.

Price that I was quoted at a pariah ice shop: 180 for adaptor for steering wheel. 120 for cover for dash for aftermarket dash.

Thanks

which audio shop was it? have u done it also?

Re: Using Original BMW Steering Controls For Aftermarket Headunit.

It was a shop in ubi. However most of the Audio shop carries it. I didn't do it. I find the stock ok for my usage. I have changed out all the speakers and added in a 2x10in sub with a monoblock.
Sounds good enough for me. And a pre amp as well. The stock HU is ok for all purposes other than it couldn't take any aux or ipod. But oh well, 2 years down the road, the new cars will all have it.... Keep the stock HU and check out the quality of the effects before pluging in. You may find it quite ok with only speakers and amps added. Of course a Hi-Lo was added.

Bro it's possible.. I changed my HU and the steering controls still can work.
However, there is a price to pay...
U have to pay a lil' extra because they'll have to install some gadgets to make it "Wireless" as it is aftermarket...

Can contact them at 6844-8448 or just go down to their shop which is located at 53 Ubi Avenue 1 #03-03 Paya Ubi Industrial Park Singapore 408934.

Cheers :)
