Hi All,

Looking at the used prices of a 05 E90 320 and a late 04 E46 320, I am having a hard time considering which to get  Things going thru my mind are:

1. E90 newer
2. E90 may have less mileage on the car
3. E90 car condition may be in a little better condition
4. E46 6 potter :)
5. E46 cheaper by $5-7K??

So... any inputs would be appreciated in helping to decide likely to get it fairly soon.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Used E90 or E46 320

if u not power hungry and not looking to modify, go for E90 320.......best bang for buck.....its cheap too....

Re: Used E90 or E46 320

E46 320 - OMV $48-49K Paper Value about $54-55K
E90 320 - OMV $40-41K Paper Value about $43-44K

If you drive 2years, E46 you buy at $75K, Paper still have $47K + Body
If you drive 2years, E90 you buy at $83K, Paper still have $41K + Body

Re: Used E90 or E46 320

I really doubt 15k for E90 320 in 5 years. Especially when facelife's just around the corner.

errr...i think E46 320 is 45-48k OMV right? By the way, 2.2ltr of course higher OMV then 2ltr right?

Re: Used E90 or E46 320

Hi All,

thanks for the inputs. I like to have some basic mods e.g. the normal IHE and nice brakes too :)

Besides the $ considerations, what about technology advances? Can the E46 stand up to the newer series in terms of "technology" e.g. better transmission? better engine? mods available?

thanks again.

Re: Used E90 or E46 320

I would buy the E46 320.

these days, when you sell a car after 5 years, it is always based on scrap plus body.

ie. for economic reasons, any car with higher OMV will be better than one wiht lower OMV.

also, the drive for the old 320 (2.2 litre) is way better than that of the 320 (2 litre). IMHO and 2 cents worth.

Re: Used E46 320 or even 325

Hi guys,

I can't start a new thread, so riding on to this (if not appropriate, mod please delete or move).

I might be looking for E46 320 or even a 325 if the price is right. I'm in the market for a sedan with a new addition to my family (actually... more of an excuse to change car :p). Been looking at the new 159 and new Saab 93, as well as preowned. Just started to look at the E46 now.

If there's anyone selling, can email me the details and price?

Not in a terrible hurry so taking my time to look around.

cheers

Maybe because there are so many e90 320s in the resale market?

Prefer the E46 actually and the 6 potters :)
