Based on my experience, the hole can be: 1) "plugged" using some kind of rubber. They insert the rubber to the hole by using a device that look like a needle; 2) put some kind of patch from the inside of the tyre.
I believe the second type is better. I did mine at PitStop Tyres. Quite cheap to do. Can't remember the exact amount. Give Edmund a call at 9109-4429.
Btw, my tyres are non-RFT. Not sure if the same applies for RFT.
Run Flat tires can be mend (Provided its not on the side walls). Advisable to mend it on the inside. Meaning to say, the workshop have to dismount the tire from the rim, clean / file / smoothen the inner wall surface & patch it up.
Normal mend of nails - $8.00 ~ $12.00
Internal mend - $20.00 ~ $30.00
