Tyre Size question

Hi all members. Just a quick question, I'm currently using 255/35/18 on the rear, but planning to upgrade it to 265/35/18. Is it over size ? Can it fit on a E46 sedan ? Thanks for all the help.

What are the width of your rear rim n offset?

Offset i can't really remember, but it's 8.5 width on the rear. It can fit 265/35/18 . Correct me if i'm wrong. My main problem is i'm worried if it could hit the side wall. Thanks.

it could prolly hit ur side wall.. i think u got to roll ur fenders quite a fair bit and go check on ur offset too.. that makes a lot of diff..

265 on 8.5J is understretching the tires too much and not only that, not all tires can go in. Those with very stiff side wall like SO-3 for eg, and RFT can't go in.
I have tried PS2 and it went in but it's a waste and u don't get the supposedly enhanced performane grip benefit at all.

My suggestion to you is to stick to 255 max there.

oh yea.. 8.5J ... 265 should go for 9J .. swee swee
