Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

Just discovered the front left tyre like this, but i have never done on-wheel b4.

Is this because of under inflat? Bad camber angle? lousy tyre?

Its s PS2 used about 6-7k km. The rest of the 3 tyres are ok.

Underinflation, too much positive camber or u have been taking too many left bends really fast! :)

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

yeah, i remembered once Kenny told me he cant adjust the left camber further, maybe this is the problem.

But i look at the angle of this front wheel, it seems on neg camber angle already.

Maybe is under inflation...

any concern on safety?

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

definitely not lousy tires so all the above said...

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

front camber on stock susp is limited in terms of adjustability, reckon max ard -1.5d and possibly u can push to near -2d by chopping off the pin on the suspension tower mount.

I think the solution to ur problem is to check tire pressures, it is highly likely that ur tires were underinflated, causing premature wear.

A properly inflated tire will have those edges worn out too BUT the cause is more of hard driving ard corners.

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

dun know about the rest, by all the cars that i always have a higher wear on the front left.

come to think about, i do alot of right turns. ie: u-turn, turn right, up the carpark turning right, coming down turning right etc....

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

From the pic, seems that particular line is way too far from the ground contact even with slight positive camber, everything looks OK above that line, IMO no evidence of under-inflation, most likely it was cause by the wheel rubbing against the fender. Your car height may be too low OR/AND your suspension is too soft OR/AND you sar corners really hard especially the RIGHT one (MSCP mostly one direction corners).

Re: Tyre sidewall edges worn out?

i am going to go with Bison. Rims too big, your offset must be very flush with your fender. Its either your suspension is too soft, or you hit a really big gap or drop, and the wheels hit your fender, hence grinding it alittle. I've seen something similar on my car before.
