been surfing around alot for new tyres....
my budget for each piece is below $200 a piece.
Need some help and advise if possible...

so far, i've a few choices....

Goodyear F1
goodyear-eagle-f1gsd3-lg.jpg

heard very conflicting reviews on this tyre... so not too sure yet, apparently those sold are "Made in Thailand"... so not too confidence inspiring... with some online reviews complaining of lumps developin in the tyres after not too long.... BUT, does anyone here have this tyre and how does it stack up with regards to others? It's well within budget tho....

Hankooook EVO S1

Read some rather good online reviews for this, Hankook's flagship street tyre, but does anyone have it? It's on the highest side of my budget tho, so is it worth the $$$?

Falken ZE912

Seems like this is a pretty new tyre, so not much reviews on it.... anyone has tried it b4?
Another tyre on the higher side of my budget but not as much as the Hankooooks.

So far, these are the 3 i've shortlisted... still on the lookout for more... suggestions are welcome. Any suggestions for tyres from other makes?
What Yokohamas / Pirellis fall within this price range?
Priorities are Handling, Wet weather Handling and wear rate.... not bothered if it's noisy.....

(Tried out Federals too on my previous E30, not too keen to hav em on the E36, cos price wise, i dun mind adding in more for other makes)

I just got the GoodYear RevSpec for just under $200. Heard that the Eagle F1 is made in Thailand now, but the price is even cheaper... $150+ only.

Much better grip than the tires that came with the car.

the F1's look the coolest

actually, i have a similar tyre to the F1 on my aus car, absolute crap in the wet

I know hankooks are the ducks guts these days for performance and price.

4 Hankook, u could also consider Ventus V8. When d tyre is warm up, ur steering may feel heavier.

mock,

what about goodyear revspec-02? for 18" at least, cheaper than goodyear f1 eagles and made in japan too.

if you want cheap tyres, poh heng is supposed to be the cheapest around. service and waiting time leaves much to be desired. they also scratched my rims but did pay for the respray (but still....)

their tyre balancing is reported to be a little dodgy too, but i have no complains so far.

Re: Tyre decision help? *sub $200, 225/45/17*

as for hankooks, good service at the toh guan outlet but they've increased their prices by quite a bit in recent months. i think the RS-2 i was previously using is now priced higher than the yoko AD07.

their marketing strategy is also a little dodgy as the boss personally logs onto forums to promote hankook tires, in threads such as this, but doesn't declare his vested interest. there are also a few regular folks who fervently promote Hankook on various local forums as well(to the point of obsession)... sometimes i wonder if they have vested interests too.

on a personal note, they've also used my review of their tyres on their website without informing me beforehand. i only found out a year later... didn't get a satisfactory reply from them when contacted and i think its still on their website...

lastly, if resale value is part of your consideration, i can assure you that very few people are keen on 2nd hand hankooks, regardless of how good they really are, and shops will usually not accept them as trade-in when you do decide to change.

hmm...ok... thnx for the advise...
i guess the REVSPECs seem like a better choice compared with Made in Thailand Goodyear F1s....

Dunlop SP Sports Maxx quite good for the price. Paid less than $200 ea, about 2 years back.

eagle f1 still available?" thought discontinued....

look for the german ones....the eagle f1's were good at 16' 17, but not really nice on 19's...
