Hi I need some help regarding tuning to stage 1. Anybody can help me ?
Is it a must to remove ecu to tune the car? I’m on 523i
Will there be any side effects if we remove the original ecu? Will it damage the engine ?
And also what’s the gain for stage 1 And where to tune Is the best for bmw and the price range.

1. There is no good engine remap for the 523i not JB4 not BM3 not MHD. Locally you can spend 1k or more on places like monster tune etc to gain 10-15hp at best, totally NOT worth while.
2. Removal of ECU can cause damage to the ECU itself rendering it useless and car won't drive.

Save your $, want a faster car ? Sell it and get a 535i (sry but its the truth) and that's another whole problem there.

Want to max out the 2.5L NA engine ? Get a drop in k&n airfilter, buy lightweight 18" wheels and GOOD tyres to match.
Don't fall for adding big brakes and bodykit (just adds weight).
Drive around on a 1/2 tank of gas and empty the boot.

Basically a well maintained car will perform better then one with big HP but poorly maintained.

Have fun and enjoy the ride don't be like me, buying a slow car and throwing heaps of $$ at it in an attempt to make it fast.
