Hi trogen :)

I'm not sure whether i welcomed you before..but if not, welcome again :)

The wonders of technology and the valve engine yep? I guess there will always be diehard 6 cycl guys... i found the valve a big difference from the pre f/l 1.9l version!

Welcome and see you soon! :wavey:

Heya,

Actually me not so new too. I had a E36 for almost 3yrs. That was my first car... I learnt alot abt bimmers from it... Now it has been traded in for my new 318 Sports Ed. Funny how after you get used or rather, experienced the performance of a bimmer, you never seem to wanna drive other cars...

I guess you got a Sports Ed too right? Me planning to have some mods. Mebbe we can do them together just and get the best deals on them/keep each other posted?...

1. Vkool? Me gonna checkout the JB deals.
2. Angel Eyes + silver lining/housing. Thinking either BVO or Juzz.
3. Chrome door sills.

Cheers,

Derek.

Hi Trogen....welcome to the family of RWD !! Don't matter if yours is 4 or 6 or 8 cylinder...as long as it has a body and 4 wheels driven by the rear....can liao !!

Same age like you....same status like you....with 2 kids and married liao (opss...)

The new 318i is so much better than the 1st gen 318i that was on 1.8engine....which IMHO is underpowered. The new 2.0 power plant gives it decent performance.

Quickly go get some extra horses under your hood for some sideway happy fun !!

If it's the valvetronic engine, then there's not much to play with..

Actually, you are right on this point, first time driving a RWD and the feeling cannot be compared with the FWD. Not sure if the AWD will give you the same feeling ? Just on the last weekend, I saw a subaru Forrester driving from BKE into KJE. The driver was doing something like 100kmph on the bend of the slip road. That was amazing for an SUV!!!

while still on the subject of RWD, I'm still electrified by the handling feel after 2 months of driving this Beemer. But then, thinking that if one day sueh sueh I have to downgrade in the future, I felt really uncertain and wonder if you would ever be able to take the painful decision. I gues that's life.... :(
