Re: Trap Shooting

Juz to chk who is game for golf range after this event since we are out already?

Re: Trap Shooting

guys, i have tried this before, although i did not shoot clay pigeons, just a static target.

just a word of caution, even for guys who have gone through NS.

this is not like M16 or SAR 21. the recoil from a shotgun is much, much stronger. it's like getting kicked in the shoulder. guy who went before me got his shoulder dislocated. just remember to brace yourself before you pull the trigger.

+1
If you've never fired this, please do not take this as a game, atleast for first timers.

bro jinooi - I do not know what you have tried before but the recoil from the Remington is not as strong as you make it out to be. We have women and teenagers at the range shooting before and none of them, to my knowledge, have ever dislocated their shoulder.

Bruises...yes - afterall it's a real gun and certainly could bruise the shoulder, the same way my butt gets bruised when I mount a bicycle after a long while. It is very safe so long as you do not fool around at the range.

Re: Trap Shooting

dude, with all due respect, i have fired a 12-gauge remington before, and more than once. the recoil is definitely stronger than the M16. you won't get bruises from firing an M16, not even if you put it on full auto and empty a few mags.

the guy who dislocated his shoulder was a teenager, and as a disclaimer, he probably didn't know what to expect. probably watched too many movies and thought that he could take on a shotgun.

the shotguns i have fired did not have a spring in the butt to absorb the recoil, unlike the M16. so all the recoil is transferred directly onto the shoulder. the closest i can use to describe is that recoil is almost similar to the GPMG.

still it is quite fun, as you can see the target disintegrate before your eyes when you hit it. quite unlike the rifles we are more used to.

a lot depends on the type of cartridge used. i think there's a range from 100% packed with gunpowder to something packed with a lot less. in singapore, cos of the small-ish range size, the cartridges are not max power.
as long as you shoulder the weapon correctly with the correct stance, you shouldn't bruise or even get hurt.

cheers

Remember the briefing on the M-16 we got before we fired them for the first time? 'Recoil-less' rifle they called it.... :screwedu: My platoon mate still managed to dislocate his shoulder at the range!

Re: Trap Shooting

Re: Trap Shooting

I have confirmed the session at the gun club for this coming Saturday morning (13 Dec) for 8-10 pax.. Please be there at 10.30am. Address is 127K Rifle Range Road.

It is a fact that every sport has its risk...football with broken legs, golf with slip disc, tennis with elbow pain, etc......after the shoot, I am sure that most bros will agree that the risk of shoulder dislocation is minimal.

Re: Trap Shooting

Most shooting games have inherent risks. Just ask the Bobby Shooter.

Breakfast and convoy down?

They have ear muffs but if you like to bring your own ear plugs, you can do so. Caps & sunglasses not needed actually.. A towel or change of T-shirt might be a good idea though. You can also buy drinks there 100 plus for $1 and mineral water for $0.50.

Re: Trap Shooting
