Transmission oil for e46

Hi Bros

My Pre FL 318i has reached 88,000km .... was told that I need to flush and change the transmission oil.

Any suggestion where I should change that and any indication of cost will be great.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your input.

I am confused now,,,, Performance told me that I do not need to change the transmission oil at all. But external mechanic said that it will be best to do once every 40km.

On top of that, the external mechanic mentioned that they do not change the filter and gasket, they will just keep pumping 8 to 10 litre of oil to flush up and fill it up again, Is that true ?

btw, what will be teh best transmission oil to use ? BMW ones or any type will do just fine ?

i did mine at 52K Km. its basically the OWS Transmission oil given to me. The gears are smoother now and the transmission feels more slush. Its abt 280 thereabouts.

Adrian, there was a thread not too long ago about transmission oil change on a high mileage car. do a search and you'll find some differing views.

my 2 cents,

high mileage cars shld not get a transmission oil changed.

I have a friend who did his at 110k. Less than a month into it.... the auto tranny crashed.

gee, mines at 89k. dunno whether to change onot too.. heard horror stories abt it crashing if change at such a high mileage...

but BVO recommend change, ENG SOON too...
