Transmission fault

Above error kept showing up,changed solenoids thinking it would solve the issue.it kept coming on and off and was told need to do gearbox repair/overhaul.
Car left 3 years to run and Bo pian,gonna get it done across the causeway.
Was quoted 4500 here but it's half the price across the border.
Any cheaper alternative?

IMHO - How are you so sure an overhaul is needed ?

Have seen so many time that the moment a cog (yellow or red) shows up on the instrument cluster that someone would say one of the following -

- change solenoids
- change valve body
- change ATF
- change mechatronic
- change clutch
- change gearbox

Some diagnosis I heard are based on -

- listening to the gearbox
- seeing word "solenoid" or "clutch" pop up as a word in one of the fault codes (ignoring all the other wordy passages)
- listening to the owner describe the symptoms

As a noob myself in the methods mentioned above - How was an overhaul determined to be needed in your case ?

Fault code showed up under code C.saw 3 different mechanics to determine and all same advice.
After reset done,it will be ok for a while.when I floor the gas pedal,transmission fault lights up again
Apparently the clutch issues.
