This poll has voter name attached to their selection and made public.

Trackers please vote. Non-trackers please do not vote.

You have the ability to pick more than one option in the poll. It would be nice if you could make a short post after voting, to mention why you think a vehicle should or should not be allowed at the BMWsg trackdays.

Cheers

As long as the car doesnt cause unnecessary red flags, and is not too wierdly shaped to be invisible, it really doesnt matter if it has a road tax disc or not.

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

i m ok 2-11.....i also say ok to GT cars...assuming its those like the ferrari challenge, or lambo trofeo. cos i wanna buy 1!!!

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

I just voted for the 2 touring car options and the Atom and 2-11

Reasons are that they historically have shown themselves to be relatively trouble free given sane drivers. The other options I feel are a little fussy on restarting, and perhaps just too fast.. I mean really fast.. especially in corners.. very low too. I've had a couple of close shaves with in a road car with a cup car and if that cup car were much smaller or coloured less brightly, I may have turned in on him and flattened him.

Regardless of the outcome of voting, I still 100% support that all non roadcar drivers must put down a large deposit before the trackday - something like 500 - 1000 SGD. And that they must be fined for causing any extended red flag. Cars that are low, fast, finnicky, are easy to damage and hard to restart in some situations, and then that slow tow truck has to go out and then you have 30 - 50 people sitting around in the pits wasting their time. There has to be a big fine for red flag time. I even support the idea for roadcar drivers, to encourage responsibility. What you really want are drivers who have a very good ratio of incident free hours vs incident hours. The better that ratio, the lower the fine when they get into trouble. The worse the ratio, the bigger the fine must be to get them in order and considerate of the other 30 - 50 drivers.

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

oh i forgot to vote for the GT car with electronics (some GT4 cars for example)

and forgot to split the GT cars into 2 categories cos a GT2 car is sooo much faster than a GT4. Have had just GT3 cars go flying off the track next to roadcar and it is a very scary experience thinking what if he caught you as he was spinning off

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

Only 8 people have voted, when right off the top of my head there should be at least 15 people voting, and probably a few more I can't recall in this instant...

Please vote - the poll closes on the 10th of November

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

Voted

Trofeo is GT class car

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

Thanks for voting guys.. up at 13 voters now. The names and associated votes will show after poll has closed I believe. And those who aren't on the forum, can be polled in real life and then the total vote tallied.

==

Jeremy, the Trofeo is a GT4 car in terms of weight, aero, and ABS, but GT3 in terms of power and turn exit grip. The extra ~150hp vs usual GT4, and the AWD are positives, but the higher weight and lower downforce are negatives. The Trofeo should run around 2:11-2:13 range times at SIC roughly. Call it GT3.5 hahah

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

ahah! but is it the Maserati Trofeo or the Lamborghini Trofeo?

If you recalled, we had the maserati trofeo in our BMWSG track day in 2004.

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

yah that was a cool car definitely a GT4 or slower car.. but in this thread jeremy already specified he wants a lambo trofeo which is a quicker car

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

last Thurs my car n Jem's car both had tire punctures.....and we both opposed some radical and open type of cars and what not
.....hmmm......sabo?

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

That's certainly some radical thinking on the atomic level. I'm going to 7-11 to buy kinder bueno white.

15 voters so far.. surely there are a few more. You have about 3 days to get your vote in. Please vote, because if you are a regular trackie and did not vote, we'll still have to get your opinion via other means - meaning double work if you don't vote.

Cheers

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

Also, subsequent to this vote, we will also need to come to an agreement on how to interpret the result, and also on the decision to officiate the result.

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

IMO, anyone that attended 2 or more BMWsg trackdays in 2010 should be entitled to vote (1 point)
Those that attended 4 or more in 2010 also get to vote except the vote has 50% more weight (1.5 points)

If there are say 40 people who are eligible to vote, we must make sure that all 40 vote whether online or offline, afterwhich the votes are tallied.

If more than half of the total vote points are for a certain car, then that car is approved to attend. Else it is rejected.

Sound fair? Interested to hear other views

Cheers

Re: Trackcar / Racecar vote

Well poll closed, but there seems to be an error with the forum feature or it's overridden with admin settings or something because the name listing doesn't show up.

I tried again and made sure the public poll option was ticked in this test thread http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/lounge/44473-test-delete.html
but still it does not list. So it appears all we have are the numbers unless Alvin or Ryan can get the namelist to show.
