TP Speed Cameras at Night

ok guys this issue has been bugging me for the longest time now...hoping to hear from all those who know...

in the day the TP simply stands on the bridge/bus stop etc. and snaps the laser gun + camera at the cars right? heard it can be either way, meaning at your front or at your bumper...

so im wondering how they do it at night...i mean...head-on doesnt sound right because you have your headlamps glaring at them..leaving them with the option of gunning your rear?? how does it all work..? and is there a bright flash that they need to use because it's at night? if so, you will be able to see the bright flash just like the red light cameras i suppose...cant wait to hear from you all...i just cant figure it out

Re: TP Speed Cameras at Night

Both at night;
1. Seen one at jurong town hall road, 2 police set up a tripod with a LCD look alike screen & radar gun, i went round twice to see but couldn't figure out how it work, looks like it take a pic of ur back.
2. Another one is handheld radar gun into a PDA @bt timah road, look like no flash & took the front of car.
Correct me if i am wrong. But lately never see much nite TP camera action , maybe day time enough to meet quota liao ! like me pay $320 in 6mth hahahahaha.....
500 caught a day x $130 = $23,725,000 million traffic fine a yr!

radar gun followd by road block..? doesnt mean they cannot be on the bridge what...in fact worse right coz they can be anywhere...and if they get you at the road block it has to mean the radar gun managed to capture your license plate or something...

hitmee>> dont think can assume bridges are clear right?

i mean along PIE, day time toa payoah very dangerous, night time normally i just cheong.. :nehnehhh:

as for road block mostly likely are those 60kmh road....

Re: TP Speed Cameras at Night

they dont need to take pics in the visible light range, so you wont see a flash. thats impt so they dont distract drivers and stun them with bright flashes so they can carry on speeding

that sounds really scary...kenna shot also dont know what killed you eh...thanks for sharing dude now i know they can get you ANYTIME...   in this case i think it's safe to say they can get you either head-on or on the rear...

anyway tonight there was a speed check along bukit timah road after 6th avenue (9 something)...but they were nice enough to display an electronic sign to warn motorists.

Re: TP Speed Cameras at Night

oh shit i was there ard dat time didnt see any notices at all!!! Hmm pray hard:furious:

Re: TP Speed Cameras at Night

definitely mobile as the signage was a prop-up on the ground kind and it was a temporary thing..not near hwa chong...way after that...you will pass 6th avenue junction and the sign was on the pavement next to the bus stop outside OCBC...

actually it's the 1st time i've seen it even though i pass through there all the time. but one regular place for TPs on the other side of the road is the bus stop outside the old turf club, which is now the british club soccer field or something..many times seen cars get pulled over by the bikes at that bus stop.

whatever it is...i am convinced speeding does not pay in singapore...it's just impossible to get lucky all the time..friends' parents who never got a speeding ticket in 20/30 years have gotten their first ones in the recent 6months to a year so well yea...i just hope they can discern the innocent drivers who sometimes accidentally exceed by 10 or 20 km/h as it is quite common to have to accelerate to change lanes etc. it'll be real silly to get caught for such things man...

M_POW3R..do you live around that area??
