The last episode of Top Gear's latest season just aired two days ago in Britain
As the finale, they pitted the 3 super sports saloon in a number of shootouts: drag, the Ascari track/resort (amazing idea! 5+km of great curves and bends modelled on well known courses) and on the highways back from the holiday.
Drag - Merc (tho the Audi was quicker off the line)
Space/Practicality - Merc (tho the E90 M3 may still be a contender)
Track - M3 (followed by the Merc, then the RS4 by a half a second)
Precision in Handling - M3
Highways/Real World - RS4
The C63 is a pain with the nanny traction control but without it, it is a scary beast that over/understeers in the corners. Clarkson called it the axe murderer with headlights
STIG's fave was obviously the M3.
As usual, there's the inane TG tests to demonstrate some of these qualities. To prove how "precise" the M3 was, they planted an apple at the tip of the apex of a corner while Jeremy Clarkson tried with futility to crush the apple with his brute of a Merc. Over and over and over and over and over again. To no avail. The car just went wide or slided all over the place.
STIG drove the M3 and crushed the apple with the first attempt.
Hilarious.
