Hi guys,

Help vote! (and please reply with your thoughts if any). :)

Okay, i'm the sort who doesn't drive with the top down with my windows UP (because tinted windows really do look silly on a topless car) . It's either top down with all windows down, or top up with all windows up.

I'm leaning on the DARK option...but would like to hear your thoughts.

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

i voted for the lightest tint. dark just looks out of place on a sterling grey.

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

Hi Ryan

I voted Medium because even tho I like the Dark look, Medium is exactly what I did for my car. I do not want the hassel of having to strip the tinting should LTA finds it illegal and insist on removal.

If your car is more than 3 years old, you'll have to go for LTA inspection in the fifth year.

One person I know actually puts on cheap Dark tinting film which he removes just before going to LTA inspection. He then goes back to the shop to put it on again and does not mind because it is cheap.

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

Ryan,I agree with Mixmaster. I also prefer to be on the leagl side so I will opt for medium tint. In fact I am about to install 3M on my ride. Just found out today that my dad got lobang! :)

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

legal - you won't like TP stop you in the middle of a family/drive outing. 100% spoilt your day.

Vote medium

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

I think medium makes car look aliitle more classy...dark gives it a hardcore or badboy look.. But then I guess the medium tone is better if you are concern about legal issues.

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

I vote for medium too :)

Go for it !

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

i vote for light tint... cabrio dont suit any tint at all

not to mention the trouble LTA will give u if u have dark tint

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

go for the legal....

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

U would be looking at only 70% light rejection for ur door windows & front windscreen. I agree that u should go for legal tint but u can opt for better heat rejection tint rather than light rejection tint. It'll cost a bit more too.

I'm on Cool N' Light done at Toh Guan. Need someone to go down with u, just give me a ring. I'm right around the corner!

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

No Tint for handsome driver......................swee2x.

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

Ryan,

I think the lightest tint is the way to go. Your car already has a very dim cabin and that rules out the darkest tint. As for toss between the medium and lightest. Your pics say it all. The emphasis is on the shape of the car below the waist. Darkening the glass will bring out the canvas top and it does little justice to the curves of the metalwork.

Besides, if you go for medium tint, there will be a difference between the fron thand side glass. Go for the 3M films and ask for the premium package film for the front. Use those for the side windows too and all your glass will look uniform.

Best looker IMHO.

Cheers

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

If your car is almost 3 years old, then go for legal. Cos the LTA inspectation nowadays is very strict. They will insist u remove your illegal tints. I went thru this with my car when it was due for inspection and had to tear off my huper optik ceremic tint in front of them if I wanted a Pass certification...But if your ride is quite a ways from the 3 year inspection, then go for the medium tint. IMO and no offense, way dark tint is not really in nowadays. Bad boy look and a bit over the top. Cheers..

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

want to tint, tint the darkest else dun tint. Medium no 3 no 4.:lol2:

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

I agree with Terry. Topless car which portray a sporty sunny image looks weird with dark tint....... If functional is the main reason, then the soft-top is a heat trapper anyway......

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

for you car shape n color, no nid tint... more chio with no tint. just like beautiful eyes shudn wear sunglasses. ;) spoils the overall look!

Re: Tinting Options.. help!

Certain colors dont look good very tinted. I am referring to body color.
