Tight Throttle

i also have the same car, but i dont feel it. have you tried any other cars, PML demos or friends'? And then make a comparison. If yours really does feel different, i'm not sure if your DBW program (drive by wire) needs to be recalibrated. This can be easily and very quickly done once hooked up.

It is not as smooth as it should be, I have look at several forums and magazine, they have mentioned that this is a manufacturer problem for E46 built after year 2001 - the acclerator unit does not gives you a smooth 'feel' and should be replace by BMW.

I am just wondering if the "not smooth" u mentioned is refering to the pedal travel not smooth or is it the rate of acceleration not smooth ??

For the pedal not smooth, u might wanna try greasing / cleaning the rod behind the pedal with some lubricant (like KY) kekeke !!!

If it's the rate of acceleration, then it might be a lot more things to consider, from a faulty throttle body, to misfiring spark plug to a shaky right leg, all of which, will result in unsmooth acceleration...

It's not the engine.

Whether the car is standstill or driven, I can feel that the electronic thorttle is "tight". like you say, maybe need grease or gel.

Hopefully PML can settle this.

Sounds like a sticky pedal situation for me. A lot of folks in the US had this problem. They went to the dealer to sort it out for free, and it took a very short time.

Had the car serviced today for Inspection 1, cost almost $700!!! worst my sticky pedal is not cured yet. got to make another appointment to get it done. This will be the 4th time! imagine the time i spent.

PML better get it done, I am getting impatient!

Anyway, my rear door and fender kanna bang by a hyundai van. My chio chio steel grey paint work gone! sob sob...
