Ticking after off engine / Brakes hard to step after hols

hi all,

my car is only a few months old.... just wanted ask:

1. After i off engine, come out of car, i can always hear ticking sound from bonnet - is this normal?

2. After i went for a week holiday, now when starting car, sometimes need to step really hard on brakes to start car...

What do you all think?

My tick tick sound comes from underneath due to cooling of the heat shield and the catalytic convertor(I think). Perhaps yours is too. As for the hard to depress brake pedal, mine is also like this and has been like this even after PML changed some valve thingy. Something to do with the valve leaking pressure over time. But as long can start car, dun bother me much now. Seriously for such an expensive car, mine has a host of issues to address ranging from transmission to noises from rattles, aircon etc. haizzz

i brought my ride back to PML where they changed (I presume) some brake valve thingy which was what they mentioned as the problem. they told me no problem already...

A few days later, the brake issue arose again - very hard to step to start car on some mornings!


Any comments?

i brought my ride back to PML where they changed (I presume) some brake valve thingy which was what they mentioned as the problem. they told me no problem already...

I think its quite common with alot of E90 and E92. When I had my e92 335i as well, it had that thing. You just got to step a little harder in the morning to start. I believe this is more of a software issue than a mechanical one from what I have read on e90posts.

Just an update for everyone who read this.

After sending back to PML to change something for the brake vacuum thing - initially still have the same problem - brakes hard to step when starting.

About 4 weeks later, I discovered that it is now completely ok. Brakes no problem....

it is fine....just pump the brakes a few times...then it shld be fine..

aiya, buy manual no need step brakes! just step clutch to start car.
