This is how you can check if your n20 engine is 10:1 or 11:1 compression ratio. i.e. this will end the debate of what engine is in what car.
Generally, 320i/520i should have 11:1. x1 z4 x3 should have 10:1 whether yours is 184ps or 245ps engine.
BUT HOW CAN YOU CONFIRM WHAT YOU HAVE?
Just go LTA website:
https://vrl.lta.gov.sg/lta/vrl/action/pubfunc?ID=EnquireTransferFee
Type in your number plate and key in any date. Don't worry, your car will not be transferred to anyone.
Then from there, check your engine code:

If you see N20B20B= 11:1 compression ratio. Here it is the 520i.
If you see N20B20C or N20B20D, you may have an engine that is made in china. Nonetheless, C is 10:1, D is 11:1.
