The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

I’ve just spent an engaging half-hour in the company of Gayu Eusegi, Mitsubishi’s global product director.

Mostly we talked about the new Global Small Concept, which will be built in Thailand and sized somewhere between a Toyota Aygo and the Colt supermini. It’ll go on UK sale in 2012, effectively replacing the Colt in the line-up.

But also he told me some news, which seemed to surprise a few Mitsubishi Europe bods as much as it did me.

The Lancer Evolution X, Eusegi told me, will be the last Evo. “There is still a demand [for the car],” he said, “but we must stop.” Eyebrow up.

Oh wow, what a waste.....Evo very ah beng meh? So far I rarely see any evos being driven in a beng way on the roads....the one with beng driving behavior are the WRX.

Once the evo is gone, will Subaru follow suit by removing the WRX from their product line and launch a myriad of Green Vehicles instead?

Honestly, Green vehicles seem to be very difficult to take off, the subsidies, support, etc do not seem to be very good....In Europe, a greener vehicle would be diesel propelled rather than hybrid vehicles.....

Hmmmm

Anyways the grp where they like such cars such as evo or wrx, I noticed a trend in my circle of frens is that, they simply hoped into a VW GTI or the Golf R. Simple chipping up can increase alot more Horsepower and they can play around by swapping out turbos for bigger ones to generate more horsepower.

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

its really sad... i feel the EVO is the car that really defines Mitusbishi... with it gone, it just becomes another generic car maker

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

Jacky Chan getting old and stop acting on thriller shows and do not require EVO anymore so Mit has to stop EVO production.

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

Is E10 a regressive model to E8 and E9? Cause some said E8 and 9 are the best, while others claimed E10 has better track times......

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

i'm guessing the E9 is the faster one since they hold the lap records for the yearly tsukuba time attacks. Or maybe the E10 is still too new for tuners to extract the max out of the car yet

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

If ultimate laptimes is the key indicater, then E10 > CT9A (= E7/8/9). But as for preference of level of rawness, and looks... well, it's subjective.

Mock: Stock to stock, E10 is faster, even though it's heavier by 100kg+. The timings for Tsukuba are for those all-out modded stripped out workshop cars. My guess is the E10 platform is just too much trouble to lighten to the same degree?

Eve 6.5 is the most fierce.
U can feel ur car vibrate when next to it at traffic junction.

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

That's an E6 Mock... this to me is the Ultimate version - Evo 6.5 TME:

Of cos it doesn't hurt matters that it goes like stink too. 8)

Re: The Mitsubishi Evo is no more...

I agree. Not all EVOs look beng. Some are really nicely done up. Too bad.
