I wan to sell my 325 coupe... :verysad:

The difference is that with my car, in Sports Mode, there is a lag when the car accelerates... but once I on the Sports Mode in the Z4, it takes off like a bat out of hell!! Like what ryan said, the car becomes rawer, steering becomes tighter and heavier and the acceleration is great...

The only 2 gripes I have about the Z4 are

1. The roll bars behind the headrest are covered in plastic! U pay $210k for such a nice car and they have to cover up the roll bars with plastic!! They should have it like the Audi TT roll bars! Chrome!

2. The doors of the Z4 clamps shut with a weird noise :screwedu: It's not a solid "Thunk" like the coupes...

Other than that, I'm still

Must get Z4.... :inlove:

2004 Z4

Z4 doesnt come with adaptive headlights for now. since bmw says it's going to be a common feature, 2004 Z4 may have it

the current SMG in the Z4 seems to be problematic (aside from the issue of jerking, which requires letting off the gas a little before changing)

my take is :

unless one does hard-driving * all the time *, the Steptronic may well be the better choice day-in-day-out (there's also lesser power loss in the Z4 Steptronic than in other bimmers). for those times when u want to play, with DDC engaged, the car takes on total urgency even with the Steptronic

in any case, if u really want no-comprises, then even the SMG will not do. u need the manual

my personal opinion is :

unless the SMG II in the M3 gets transplanted into the Z4, from an ownership perspective, go for the Steptronic

looking forward to the Z4s of bros here :)

Judging from the responses of the Z4 test drive, guess that "normal" buyers will be satisfied with the Z4 as it is now... Only "hardcore" buyers will look for something more responsive from BMW, like a manual Z4 or a SMGII Z4, but that market may be too small in Singapore and not feasible. Unless someone is willing to fork out BIG bucks to get one in...

Cheers

Azriel, you mean to bring in a manual Z4 is going to cost a lot more than getting a steptronic Z4? Isn't the manual Z4 something like 5K cheaper? I'm praying someone in the BMW group will get a manual Z4 heheh

can any bro pls tell me how i can have the message i'm replying to shown pls? so that i can reply specifically to the sender. thanks for help!

Or yah hor... forgot about the manual being cheaper... i meant the SMG one... paiseh!

Re: 2004 Z4

Me and my dad checked already, it cost 5K less to bring in a manual :)
only problem is waiting for it, could take a few months, and the resale market.

But i strongly believe a manual Z4 could jolly well be very very very wanted by private buyers once it's passed the 3 year mark. Can be really set up for a darn good track car.

50/50 weight distribution, manual, good looks and a SC'ed 3.0(or 2.5) litre engine spells nastiness. M3 killer, both in speed and handling. Looks also? hehe throw in a bodykit and you'll have a beautiful MONSTER Z4!!!!

Should not be... even if they bring it in for you, it should not cost more than the steptonic Z4. Dun think that anyone will bring one in just because in Singapore, the resale value of the car will suffer due to it being a stick...

I also want to go try one...
