Sad to see the spore taxi scene in such a sorry state. Whenever I visit Spore, I can never get a cab especially at peak hours. Call them also no response. Why has spore transportation degraded so much and yet we are consistently referred to as a world-class city? I feel empty whenever I arrive at Changi Airport. I never look back whenever I leave T3. Does anyone feel the same?

comfortdelvilgrow is one of the largest transport operators in the world, take all the $ and expand overseas, less for the cabbies, take all the $ to offset the ridiculous coe premiums..

Its not only the country bro, its also the people. I posted before that when I go some other countries and dun see Singaporeans, I am damn happy and tell everyone I am Japanese born in London, studied in US, moved to Korea and travel alot. Tats why I sound like a Singaporean.

wow, plus you are so yandao surely a magnet for the babes from Filip, Thai and PRC.
Interestingly, I always get questions from ladies to demo what Singlish is. They think it is funny, but I can't help thinking that it is mockery.

Very strange lei...
Taxi uncle complain income not enough, very difficult make living, so ok la increase charges, let taxi uncle earn more.
Then commuters complain, say taxi so exp, cannot afford la, so for example majority of commuters in retail line, so retailers increase salary for the retail sales staff, so to cover cost, their products have to increase price.
Then shoppers who go shopping say wah all so exp, then start complaining money not enough, so for example shoppers from finance and engineering industry, so government request finance and engineering industry increase salary.
Increase salary liao, must cover cost, so banking charges go up, electronic appliances also go up cos must cover cost.
Then ppl from other industries say wah lao eh, banking charges go up, appliances so exp, cannot afford lei.
so increase salary and prices again.
Its not a very accurate example, but its a never ending cycle.

taxi uncle complain income not enough, taxi co reduces rental charges, eg less $10/day.
1 month down taxi uncle gets 300 bucks more
would be good if someone post the p/l of the taxi co
end of the day, its always pushing the buck to the customer.....yeah, profit maximization....if every biz can do like that, huat liao
thats one way of breaking the cycle.....but i guess the policy's probably decided by one who don't even take a cab and i am talking abt cab, not bus or mrt hor

Why didn't Competition Commission of Singapore look into this??? as well as petrol pump prices... This is extracted from their website:
Commission's Work:

1) maintain and enhance efficient market conduct and promote overall productivity, innovation and competitiveness of markets in Singapore.
2) eliminate or control practices having adverse effect on competition in Singapore

4) promote a strong competitive culture and environment throughout the economy in Singapore
5) act internationally as the national body representative of Singapore in respect of competition matters
6) advise the Government or other public authority on national needs and policies in respect of competition matters generally.

Looks like all kelong and price control together... CSS is set up to catch small companies only... GLC & big firms(eg. petrol companies) are out of their range...
