Re: Sultan's ride damaged by local workshop

Heard rumour that his late father killed his caddy during a golfing session so be careful to chute pattern...runs in the family if you have read many incident with this royal family.....Spore gov good rapport with them so the AGC/SPF sure take action very fast unlike Ah Chong case...

I don't think it's the only 1 in the region. Hitmee has the other one, right?

Re: Sultan's ride damaged by local workshop

I am always curious to know... if the car is the only one in the region, how will any technician/ mechanic know how to fix/ repair it when something goes wrong?

Re: Sultan's ride damaged by local workshop

every single car, up to say a new 318i, or new corolla, there will be a very first unit. Whether or not the firm subsequently sells a second corolla or not, does not impinge on the company's ability to service the first car mah. It's all about equipment, and training.

i suppose from super car to the next regular servicing and oil change shld be relatively straight forward and similiar. if there are serious issues however, might just boil down to "Wayang" skills.

I can understand about equipment and training. But to me training consists of classroom training and on-the-job traning. I believe practice makes perfect. In my head i always imagine this scenario going on...

When the first problematic. say, E60, arrived at PML workshop...
Technician 1 : "Eh bro... what is this part ah? How to remove?"
Technician 2 : "Walau eh. How should I know? I was on MC that day during training..."
Technician 1 : "Never mind. We just tell the customer that This is Normal for BMW!"
Technician 2 : "Great idea"

But after 2000 units of E60s going thru the workshop, they can work on it with their eyes closed. That is why as a rule I never buy the first release of a new model. I kiasu lah....

agree with u. the techs are regularly sent for training as those are bread and butter models. be it 1st car or last car to ever enter the service center. but for the very rare cars, i am doubful if hong seh actually sends their techs for training in anticipation of a spyker needing repairs.

Re: Sultan's ride damaged by local workshop

not refering to the incident that happend whilst at the workshop, but rather the repairs of a rare car like spyker.

Re: Sultan's ride damaged by local workshop

Hong Seh prob has access to online databases to help them for such exotic cars...much like how BMW has TIS software
