U can set it in either ur idrive (If you have it) or your instrument cluster. Using the instrument stalk to go inside to set it.

I am talking about your auto headlamp also. Inside the OBC (On Board Computer), you can see there is a setting to set the headlights to be on all the time, even in EXTREMELY bright conditions when the light control is set to auto.

Read through your manual on the settings part and you can find the answer to turn off this setting. Only when it is dark will your headlights switch on.

Re: such a bright hot day today but...

Are you referring to the drl function? That turns on the angel eye on permanently but not the head light. In my case i think my sensor might not be working...

Oh yours is the E60 with idrive, mine is E90 no idrive. Mine can only set headlight, cannot set the angel eye on permanently.

Maybe you might wanna check out the manual?

Hi, i have check that for non lci E60, DRL means to turn on headlamp all the way...so bro you are right. Only for lci bro does their DRL turn on AE only. So i turn my DRL off and my auto headlamp is back to normal. Funny thing is i can acheive the same function by turning my switch to on always rather than DRl. in this sense, drl is really quite useless in pre lci e60.
