I know there are a number of folks here who are big on their classic ride from the E28, E30, E34, E36 and so forth. I too am a big fan of the handsome E34. M3 and M5 fans, engine swaps, remapped ECUs and stuff aside, passion should be the main reason driving the restoration and tweaking of 20 year old rides.
Surely, a powerful and fast 'old-timer' is really cool (in my books at least) and shouldn't have problems taking out many modern incarnations at a fraction of the cost with an old school flavour. a gentle reminder before some crazy bloke decides to floor it on the public roads and test their latest 'upgrades and modifications'. roads should be for safe and pleasurable driving. keep the tests to the tracks. don't end up on the wrong side of the road.
