i never test drive the 335 before i bought it cause pml dont have e90 335.i didnt test drive the e92 335 either cause not buying it.

i found out on sat night that even on stock ecu,the car is a beast on DS mode.in d mode its like just waking up in the morning never exceeding 2000rpm.

in DS mode it shoots to 4500 rpm in a instant and shifts smoothly and fast.
definitely low 5s from 0-100.

so i am wondering,are v2 necessary on a already powerful car ?
i cant imagine what another 100bhp will do ?

its quite scary.

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

v2 main purpose is to preserve your transmission by capping your torque for low rpm low gear. You don't need more power at the low end, you need it at the high end.

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

V2 gives you better streetable HP. V1 gives you most power but practilcally useless in lower gears. All you have is you DTC blinking. V2 is much more like a V8 where you rev into the mid-highs to make the power.

Never play star wars game because never watch the movie ... never see the preview coz never watch the movie

Darth Vader already so powerful

cant imagine strong man with light saber... must be scary

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

we all hunger for a powerful car but are we capable of handling it ?
i think i will go slow on the v2 installation till i am comfortable with power i am having now.
i am happy that i upgraded my brakes, better sense of security it gives.

Ah Ho, you used to drive 330 - very powerful to many, but you were not satisfied? Why?

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

darth you are crazy. you MUST do V2. it is safer than V1. Too long V1 you will burst your xmission.

cause still lose to Mark X mah.. :lol2:

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

I tend to thik that the V2 is very natural with the way you modulate the throttle. V1 is a great shot of boost to the head which was not very easy to modulate, hence the scare. And V2 makes abt 50hp in the topend over V1. So which do you want? Power or Weight? You still dont know what you want Ho. Find out first then post. Otherwise conflicting replies there will.

sometimes is not about car's power to accelerate...

its about the power to pick up chicks :yummie:

power difference between e46 330 and e90 330 on the street = nil.

power difference between e90 330 and e90 335 on the street= night and day.

perhaps the power is more than i can handle.
need time to master it first.

Power is the word.

Ken, who has what version between yourself and Omar? Did you drive each others car to see any difference?

Ok that is a sensible thing to do..

Now MODs are mostly WANTS not NEEDs..just remember this..

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

Agreed. Most mods are definitely WANTS. Even Lambo Murch owners also mod. WTF!!!!????!!!! one would say.

One person mod, then brag, others envy and also want to catch up and win. At the end, mod companies prosper and never complain. Keep quiet, let us dumbarse go fight it out. LOL.

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

ah ho,

u need the extra 100hp. u forgotten your target? is a maserati... haaa
u so easily scared, how to win?

Re: stock 335 already power!are v2 necessary ?

I have seen cars with 3.0-litre engine swap followed by SC mods, and chipping and all sorts of mods. Now, if the power upgrade is only a want, and everyone wake up to their senses, will BVO and J4C close down?

Wun happen, cause for some, even M3 drivers, they will not stop there.

I am not saying it is rational or not. I am saying once you start to re-plot your car's power/torque curves, you'll never stop.

And yes, not just power, everything else must be looked into. Brakes, handlings all come before power.

Mike,

Are you saying a V2 will not damage the stock 335 whereas a V1.47 may? (Assuming using mainly for street driving and NS runs in my case but no tracking!) Tks.
