Steel weights on wheels

Folks, this morning I noticed a few of those little rim-balancing weights are missing from my wheels, leaving only the gluey bits - is that normal? Should I be getting them replaced?

Those weights were put on by the tyre shop and I haven't changed tyres for like three years... I know it sounds like a damn long time but the threads are still deep. Does it mean it's time to get fresh rubber anyway?

As long as you're not experiencing any adverse handling or vibration, I guess should be ok? I wonder if the workshop will stick them back on the next time you get your wheels balanced..

Re: Steel weights on wheels

for peace of mind, you can go tyre shop like pitstop, hurry, coco, etc and ask them to do wheel balancing for all 4 wheels with new steel weight :D
swee swee and it should not be expensive
i did that one year after change tyre. to make it swee swee again and also as a checkpoint to check the rim & tyre
then for 2nd year, change tyres (2yr = 35k milleage) and it comes with wheel balancing
