I dun know if its only me. My driver seat is beginning to squeak after 3weeks of driving. YES its new. Sometimes when I go on a bumpy road you can hear it go like a rubber ducky.
I am a light-weight fellow and I was wondering if PML can help out. Or replace the seat cos I've tried in the showroom and non of the seat behaves like this.

Its annoying. My previous honda had no such problem at all.

Anyone out there has a similar problem?

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

oh, i meant the cushions on the seats. When I lean back, I hear the sound.

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

hi,

my 320 also has the same squeaking sound. most of the time i dun hear it unless i'm the only one in my stationary car. Pls let me know what PML has to say regarding this problem. It'll be interesting to know what they can do short of removing the cushioning and oiling the springs.

Thanks

ok. Its done. I think what they did was to remove the chair and massage the coil near the lumbar area. I had a test drive with the worshop supervisor and he hear the sound. We drove with no Aircon and he was very very detailed in listening. He even found me the route with all the bumps to stress test the sound.

Now its good as new.

Hi, other then PML, anyone know of other technician that can repair the frame of my E46 driver seat?? I've visited PML and they charge me 1k to fix the problem I'm having.

The driver seat make cracking sound whenever the car is being turned or go over a hump. The sound come from the center of the seat back. Anyone can give your thoughts on this?? Thanks.

bring back to any PML center will do... me went back to Alexandra new center...

if your ride under warranty, they will remove the complete seat and "condition" the padding/springs inside...

since they are removing 1 seat, request them to do the both front seats.. my SA recommended me to do so since i am apprehensive when PML start distmantling things from the ride...

so far so good after the service...

hope this helps :cloud9:

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

My driver's seat also started to develop this ticking sound too.

Was at PML Alexander this monday and went for a round with the tester. I was told that it's the sping that is causing it. But he mentioned that PML may not be fixing that anymore, but told me to check with the SA again. This problem was logged in the serivce form by the SA when we return to the center. Will be sending in the car this evening for them to fix (other issues - Aircon ticking sound when put to AUTO) for one week while I am out of town. Hope that they will fix that.

I felt quite weird when the tester told me that PML not fixing it anymore. Since it's a know issue and the car is less than a year old, now can they not fix it as itis seems like it's a manufacturing defect. I am already quite unhappy with issues that cannot be solved - such as this wind noise from the driver's wing mirror when the car travels above 60km/h.

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

I have noise coming from the empty front passenger seat, but when seated was ok. sent for checking last week 29 March 2009. PML said it was the due to the head rest, they couldn't do much, but I was not convinced, any advice?

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

Generally, PML has been quite disappointing with regards to warranty work since I bought my E90. Brought it in (Kpg Arang) for a creaking/rattling noise from the ashtray/climate control area, took 1 full day, was told problem was fixed by replacing the clips. On my way home, it was quite obvious that nothing was fixed as the same noise was still there. Brought it back in a week later, after 1 full day, was told the problem was fixed by replacing the felt surrounds. They tried to charge me $150 for something they assured me was covered under warranty. Obviously, I argued my way out of that one. On the drive home, no surprise that the noise was still there.

Upon reaching home, I took matters into my own hands, removed the centre console and climate control panel to see for myself what was wrong. Upon disassembling the panels, I could see where they had merely stuck on a few pieces of felt (velvet) where the panels would probably contact the surround. Geez, $150 for a few pieces of felt?

The noise was narrowed down to the climate control panel itself, where its plastic clips were getting abit brittle. A little silicon lubricant, and 15mins later, no more noise.

So basically, 30mins work, a smattering of silicon lubricant was all it took. While PML took 2 full days, wanted to charge me $150, cost me $60 in taxi to/fro PML. Can't say I'm too impressed by them...

Re: Squeaky e90 323 chair

That was very irrponsible considering the republic is promoting Service Quality. Thanks for the advice, I amy just bring it back to PML, or post our comment in their Feedback form :).

Also to consider is if we were do it ourselve does it has implication on the warranty,
