So SB does work, but is less "cheem" than I thought it was.
Just a play of multiplying electrical inputs to be picked up by the ECU....bluff it that the driver is stepping harder than he is.

I think it comes down to a matter of feel. The 320i at least feels quite dead until the pedal is about 1/3 down, and then it comes alive. The SB helps to eliminate the dead feel.
The other interesting thing is that it activates the kick-down earlier. All in all it means more power at less effort, even if the bhp/torque remains exactly the same.
I'm thinking of getting one myself. It's pretty cheap and should work very nicely with my incoming GruppeM and new spark plugs.

with the $$ spend on the SB, why not spend it on an ECU tune which REALLY increase power and responsiveness. To me SB is just a simple device that reduces the distance in throttle travel, ie for people like me for example with shorter legs than the average beng.

With the rather stiff gas pedal on the bimmer, it translates to not having to press so hard.. it also gives the illusion of a faster car..
I did spend $$$ on getting a tune and that's probably my best mod.. but the SB makes it that little bit better.
