Spray paint of horizontal panel on the Front Bumper to silver ( on E90 )

Hi,

Has anyone tried re-spraying the front bumper horizontal panel with Silver paint ( something like the new 5 series front bumper ). Quite alot of spray paint shops don't know how to dismantle the plastic panel for respray.

Let me know if someone has successfully done so. Thanks

Alternatively, apply silver/chrome adhesive tapes over the panel concerned. Anyone knows where to get such metallic tapes?
