Re: Sport Seat

for your passenger seat, they are your airbag sensors. they are connected to a weight sensor beneath your leather seat.

if you change seat without taking into account the sensors, you will have an airbag warning light. Either rip out your leather, and swap the weight sensor to the new seat, then sew back, or use a bypass switch which may come with your new seats.

the difference will be that the airbag will be activated in an accident regardless of whether you have a passenger or not. It's meant to save you some money in the event of an accident (as well as minimise dangers of activated airbags) but if you langah your insurance company pay everything anyway.

I changed my stock E46 electric seats to electric sports seats recently. It was a direct swap. Everything fit exactly...

thanks for the reply. as for bypass switch, do u mean it will permernently deactivate the airbag??? dun think the seat will come with any bypass cos it most probably come with rails only.

and also, where is the weight sensor located??? am i able to see it??

cheers! TIA

Re: Sport Seat

are the sports seats already available say on an x5 or 7-series that one could swop with?

Re: Sport Seat

Alright! Will have to wait then. But if you do chance upon somebody who is exporting his car and is willing to do a swap, please let me know. Thanks!!
