Someone hit my rear!!!

I think it's possible but not through pml. Those guys probably went to some other bodyshops to have their repairs done.

I just hope this doesn't affect my car's future resale value man...Although I can claim for a new bumper but the effects of future monetary lost could be more than just that bumper.

Also, many years back I drove a CRV. A car also slammed into the rear of my car. Kah Motors changed the bumper but after a few weeks, I kept smelling petrol from within the cabin. Sent it back and they discovered that the oil tank was leaking due to a tiny crack!! I hope pml will do a full thorough check this time round man...so freaking paranoid now!!!

Petrol leak. Damn it is dangerous.

Re: Someone hit my rear!!!

It is a big deal to me because the ride is barely 2 weeks old! Just run in my engine! Immediately after collecting my car, there was a problem with corona ring and jammed glove box. Sent into pml and because they needed to run some computerized check, the car was stuck in the workshop overnight. Then soon after I drove it out, bang! My a$$ got hit. And it's back to the workshop again. And on top of this, for some reason pml cannot collate the repair of my corona ring together with the bumper repair because Corona ring problem was diagnoised by kampong arang branch and accident repairs can only be done at Alexandra. So, after I get my ride back from Alexandra, I'll need to drive it down to kampong arang and leave it there overnight again. So in 2 weeks, I probably drove the car like 5 days maybe?

Now I'll pop over to your thread and I'll try to find something nicer to say ya?

This uncle slammed into the back of my car 2 secs after I stopped at the red lights!!! His reason was he was coughing and he was reaching for some tissue paper!!!!

The worse thing is that pml said my bumper has no stock and must wait about two weeks!!! Now I gotta drive my baby around with a broken bumper and number plate. Sighhhhh!!!!

Then check this out: when I asked the driver who hit me if he wanted to pay for the repairs out of his pocket or claim from his insurance company...he asked me how much the repair cost will be. I told him and he argued that he only noticed that the number plate was damaged and not my bumper!!! Arrgggg!!! Why are there people like this in this world!!! I hope pml will get my car back to shape...I'm so paranoid about future defects that can't be traced now...

Ouch that is sad :( Glad you are okay though..

Cheers,

Leica :wavey:

Hey look I feel for you ok? My previous new car was also hit by a prime mover 2 weeks after collection. What I am trying to say is that you have an obvious option and that is to claim insurance. You can choose to do it at PML (may require you to pay upfront first then they reimburse you after insurance pays) or outside workshop (who can do just about anything and everything for you without you paying a cent). But since car is new, I believe you will go to PML to be assured.

However, there may be creaks and squeaks or other imperfections that will come with a replacement and nobody can guarantee anything. Troubleshooting noise is certainly a "bitch". Fortunately for me, good as new after the bumper replacement and I don't think it will affect the resale if I want sell.

Anyway, I am not trying to belittle your agony but if you feel so, I apologise. What I want to say is this is such a common thing. For venting purposes and for the rest of these kaypoh people (me too ok?), take some pictures and share. At least if we cannot really help you we can feel for you.:)

Re: Someone hit my rear!!!

Hi everyone. I don't know if this is the right place to post, but I really have no idea where this should go. I need help urgently, thus would really appreciate if everyone here can assist me.

Recently my brother's car got knocked by a cyclist. Why do I say so? Coz the cyclist knocked into the car's rear bumper, somewhere near the left back wheel. If my brother had deliberately not given way to the cyclist, the cyclist would be hit head-on. The cyclist fell from his bike, and sustained very slight abrasions. This happened last Sunday, 23 May 10, at about 10.15am, at the lorry carpark at Changi Village.

A dark-skinned man, around late 20s-early 30s, alighted from his maroon-red, older version of BMW 3-series car to help. He was the only one who witnessed this accident. However, my brother was too panicked at that time to take down the particulars of the kind man, and he also can't remember the car plate number.

The injured cyclist is now intending to sue my brother over this, so please, can I appeal to everyone out there to help ask around if you have friends who fit the above descriptions? Below is a summary:

Time: 10.15am
Where: Lorry carpark at Changi Village
Date: 23 May 10, Sunday
Potential witness: Dark-skinned man in his late 20s-early 30s
What he drives: A maroon-red old BMW 3-series

Should anyone has any information on the above, please do not hesitate to contact me at 81825795. My name is Eileen. Alternatively, I'll be hanging around the place of the accident to, hopefully, get hold of the driver. I know this sounds very silly, but we have no choice.

I thank everyone in advance for your help.

Hi, I know there are many many many such old 3-series maroon-red BMW cars in S'pore, but I still need to try my luck. With such little information provided, I am also clueless where I should start looking. The police cannot be of help, so I'd rather rely on myself.

Do you know him in person? Can you get him to call me at 81825795 so that I don't have to trouble you to be the middle person? Thank you so much.

Hi, about his age, this can be pretty subjective at times, but anyway, thanks for sharing.

Hello! Hmmm, but the accident happened on a Sunday morning, so I don't think he went there for that purpose. No pun intended.
