killer litter is viewed upon very seriously by the authorities. but then do you know from which unit it came from?

Maybe you guys should not have sound your horn....0745 leh...some pple still in sumberland mah.

Anyway...its wrong to throw stuffs down and to think that someone threw a plate !! WTF !! I say...once you catch him...SHOW NO MERCY !! (but dun go overboard...cos he/she might lose the HDB flat)

You are right, honking so early on a Sunday morning is rather "inconsiderate" but throwing killer litter is criminal....

my gawd...this is singapore leh....that guy not scared hit somebody ah?

Its terrible, but i do believe in retribution..

I have shared a similar experience, except that the damage done was on my rear windscreen. Cost me $750 at J4C. Some idiot threw a half-inch-diameter ball bearing down from high floors. I did not even horn. Reported to the police nonetheless.

So, what to do about these buttholes? For one, you did the right thing by reporting to the authority first. It might not help to apprehend the perpetrator(s), but it will send a strong signal to him or her, and those watching the action. Try it few more times, and one day he or she might land his or her butt in jail without any material gain.

Having said that, it is ironical from the standpoint of criminal science that these sociopathic idiots would do damage to properties via killer litter or vandalism. The deterrent sentence on these offences are made known to all, and yet these idiots are risking their freedom, butts and houses to inflict physical damages without any real financial gains. Might as well rob for money, one will say? Not that I am condoning a robbery, but the point is that it does not make any sense from the risk/reward perspective if these idiots are risking to suffer the punishment.

So why do people still do that?

It boils down to this - statistical probability. What are the chances of getting caught? If the probability is low, the crime will look more enticing for the sociopathic behaviour to enact upon. Alerting the police increases the probability of the perpetrator getting caught. Hence let the police document the case, and leave the worry to the perpetrator(s).

As far as we (the victims) are concerned, it is a painful experience, but a bearable one. Moola and sentiment we are talking here.

As for the serial vandals or litter-killers, they will have to contend with the fear of imprisonment and forms of corporal punishment. Their entire life we are talking about here. And years of their freedom.

ask the police to look for fingerprints and run it against our NRIC finger prints database. don't let the butthead go so easily!

Brother, you have been watching CSI too often, haven't you?

Throwing things down is totally not acceptable. When I used to stay at Bishan where the CP is just below your block...every Sat without fail, there will be a bunch of marons who will rev their bikes without giving a hoot about pple staying there.

I have called the police a few time but dunno why...they are damn kualan...every weekend sure come back one....

One fine Sat nite....I collected my pee...my brother's pee....packed into a nice plastic bag.....then I called the police...and after the call...down came the rain....

They KPKB for a while...until the police arrive.

After that....no more vroom vroom liao.... :inlove:

Ghostrider,

Well done!

I was the "ah yi chia" for a friend of mine yesterday (which explains the flowers and overdress for the meetup yesterday). As happy the occasion was, we reached the bride's house at Bukit Batok St31 Blk 301 at around 0745hrs. Being all happy and excited, the groom asked all of us to honk our horns. Naturally it was the usual "Por por por"... I stood out of the car waiting for my dear friend to pick up his bride when I heard a "PONG, kok, PIANG!!" I turned around and saw a shattered porcelain cup on the floor. My first reaction was to look up and try to figure out where it came from. Then I heard my friend shout out "EH tio li eh chia ah!!" I look at my rear boot and indeed there was a deep cut and dent......... *HEART PAIN*

Called the police and had them come over take some pics and to lodge a report..... Hope to apprehend the culprit soon and see some legal action taken... After which I wanna take my civil action too........ *sigh*

If it were me, if I ever find out who it is. I'll ask my lawyer to review every single law there is to find, write a 15,000 page statement and sue this fella to the end of the world.

Don't care if the cup hits the floor or the car, a cup being thrown at a height gains velosity twice the speed limit of the expressway, and when that cup smashes your head, you'll probably forget how to drive anymore ...

Hey guys thanks for the really comforting advice... Anyway, the porcelain glass was not totally shattered. There were still large chunks of it.... So the cops took the cup back and would try to ID it for fingerprints.

At the same time, I would like to seek some advice regarding a civil claim. For normal cases whereby you meet with an accident and claim it from your insurance company. I understand that you will be assigned to an authorized workshop or if yours is a flexible company, you just need to pay the excess.

If I were to take action against this bugger via civil action. Can I claim any amount I want? Of course a reasonable (but jacked up) figure? Say the repair would cost $500 and I would like to claim $800, due to the loss of use of vehicle for work purposes.... Is this legal to do so?

Cheers

Bro, these are very sensitive issues to be posted on the forums.

If you could, try to meet us at our regular PDC (Marina South Pool Factor) on Friday evenings......

Usually in this type of killer litter situations, the police will charge him but doubt there will be any claims for you much less claiming for more... but.....

you can meet up at the PDC, get Ken to go up the place where butthead is.... Bruce Lee will then do a right swing followed by a left upper, and then his all-time famous low-down mean kick in the spot (followed immediately by his ai-yoh-eeeee....); when butthead is down then it becomes a free for all including throwing the remaining chunks of the porcelain glass at him....
