Hi all,
Jus bot a 2nd hand E46. Felt weird abt the steptronic. I have driven Honda Strean RSZ and Auto-Rex. The steptronics are the same and easy to use. I.e., when my RPM hasn't reach a certain spd, even I wan to up 1 gear, it can't be done. And let say I am at 4th gear, my spd drops to say 40kmh, the gear automatically drops to 3rd gear.
However, for BMW is different, Even when on stand still, I am able to up gear to 4. When I am driving at 4th gear, my spd drops below 40kmh, the dash still shows "4", so did the gear drop? How actually BMW's steptronic works? And is the gear change always so laggy? When I push "+", it took 1-2 secs to "think" b$ the car "decide" to up gear whereas Stream or auto-rex response instantaneously.
Thk u for answering my ques ah, very new to BMW...
