Hi Guys,
We have grown from few regular forumers playing the game for a few years to the current 20+ forumers meeting up and playing on a regular basis. It is quite an encouraging sign. However, it has also brought up few problems:
(1) The futsal court is booked by my friend who is not playing the game. He is a Temasek Club member, and is only doing us a favour. So when we need access to the futsal court, we need to draw keys from the reception desk. We will only call the HP number if there are no one there. And, please be polite (buy kopi if you need). One of the complaint was one of us called the warden down to open the gate and treated her like a public servant. In essence, my friend received complaints that our attitude was bad. (WTF?) The staff there do not owe us a living.
(2) We might explore other courts, but you know the problem with paying courts. 10 players committed, you booked, 5 cannot showup, you will have 5 players who cannot play but ended up footing for the charges. So unless we can ensure more regular turnout, or sort out a fairer payment system, we cannot afford to book SSC's futsal court.
(3) Parking - I know we have been parking along the entrance route too often, but I am seeing some issues arising. The wheel-clamp are outside the badminton hall is a no-no. And if possible, try not to block the entrance. This is an issue frequently raised by the warden. Try to park away from the main access.
(4) Littering - try to keep the place clean.
There are also other issues which do not pertain to the court booking:
(1) Drinks - try to contribute on and off. Myself, bmwf1, arsenal62, Terry have bought drinks too many times. We all drink, so let's help to rotate that role. Incidentally, bmwf1 (Kelvin) is the kind soul who is bringing the icebox every week, every session.
(2) Spirit of the Game - said too many times. Amongst friends, nothing to prove, just play friendly. You score a goal, good. Please do not injure you fellow forumers for personal glory. Hold back certain hard tackles, hold back your trailing legs if possible, and hold back your shooting brute when the goalie's hands are on the ball.
Cheers
