Singapore F1 circuit

As many of you know, the Singapore F1 circuit is coming together. The road has been resurfaced (although on my daily commute it still seems a little bumpy), while the strange looking light stands are being installed along the Padang and Esplanade Bridge.

Meantime the pit building is also quietly taking shape just before a rather narrow track at Turn 24, the final corner leading to the start/finish straight.
I'm secretly hoping Hamilton will slide off the road and drop into... nevermind.
Here are some birds-eye-view pictures taken yesterday, enjoy! :cloud9:

Re: Singapore F1 circuit

Notice how close the corner is to the water... splash!!

Re: Singapore F1 circuit

whats the shadow in the water in the bottom left pic? Singapore flyer is it? Taht would be a cool seat to watch the GP

Re: Singapore F1 circuit

after f1 finished, can the public use it for 6 months as a tracking circuit ?if not all this work just for 1 f1 session seems quite excessive.

would like to rent for a day to myself so that i can do some private tracking and also hire a movie making team to firm my own too fast too furious.

not worth it leh...

they are already selling the tickets for the flyer, but you'd have to pay the entry fee into the area first.

means you'd be paying for F1 tickets, and then again for the special flyer tickets.

better to find somebody working in a tall building across the river and watch it from there. and have TV tuned on too. Then can see and hear at the same time.

i foresee a few cars will end up in marina bay.

I'll be salvaging parts in marina bay and selling them on Ebay.

1st Ebay post,

"One genuine CF rear wing for sale, formerly seen on the back of one Mr Lewis Hamilton's car in Singapore, highest offer secure, no low ballers pls" :nehnehhh:

Re: Singapore F1 circuit

Ok... I'm taking time out during the whole F1 week.

Road closures and diversions in preparation for F1 race - Yahoo! Singapore News

"Marina Centre will be shut to traffic from September 23 to 30, while Nicoll Highway and Republic Avenue will be closed on the three race days — September 26 to 28. LTA said city-bound traffic during the morning peak hours will not be disrupted as Nicoll Highway, Republic Boulevard and Raffles Avenue will be opened from 5am to 9am during the race week."

Re: Singapore F1 circuit

it may be close to the water..but i think thats what makes it nice on TV. dun think its dangerous..thats the pit lane entry. speeds probably limited to 50/60kmh at the most....like monaco.
