Guys,
SIMOTA CAI For n42 engines(e46) can produce more growl and power?
I'm not talking 20-30 increase in hp. But what would be the difference??

So that means the lower rpm is better ah???Hmmmm............Wounder how i can force induct the air system better coz the Simota takes in hot engine air in the bay.
You guys reckon i need to have a heat guard??Can Silent(cmmonwealth) do it or anyone have DIY solutions??

Yes, it'll be louder. Its more of a throttle response rather than power.

Good to have a heat shield & do a research on Silent before committing. Check out on reviews abt'em in the various car forums & you'll be able to decide.

IMHO install CAI only if you have heat shield. Else it'll suck in hot air instead. CAI becomes HAI (hot air intake) without heat shield. I had K&N open pod installed and removed it few weeks later.

All the other soothsayers worrying about flood and big puddles...........haiz....
I reckon that as long as its not a forced induction CAI it should be allright!, Ive seen some where the pineapple head is right where the 4th eye(foggies) is!!. The thing is I won't be able to get the SIMOTA all the way down there.

Injen gives you much better gains in HP and Torque and for cheaper.....

a gain of 19 HP
