Re: shocks n suspension

Hi Richlee....

IMHO.. the most comortable lowered setup will be KONI FSD Shocks and Eibach lowering springs. Really really comfy... chk with Chicken Back Side the moolahs he paid. Honestly... don't expect stock comfort when you drop your ride..

Err... as for that hump at Bugis/Inter Con Hotel... we probably jus avoid it totally as its list of victims includes numerous stock cars of other makes as well.

Cheers

Re: shocks n suspension

wah, tough criteria.... don't know of any combi that'll satisfy them all.

maybe koni fsd with matching springs? should fit all the criteria except perhaps the one on clearing the bugis hump... contact juzz4cars. i think they're dealers for koni.

Re: shocks n suspension

well, i guess koni fsd has 2 votes now...kekeke didn't know 55 would post at the same time

Re: shocks n suspension

thanks louis n 55,
appreciate duh quick reply! eibach spring got any particular model/type... cos me reali blur on the springy stuf... n as for the inter-conti... ya la.. maybe avoid after install... (just afraid when the wife drive... )
come to think of it, waznt there a list of such "disaster-zones"? anyone got the link/thread?

Re: shocks n suspension

I'm on Koni FSD's with Eibach Prokit springs. Handsdown the most comfy lowering option out there. Handling improves at the same time, which is unexpected of a comfy setup.

It's damps according to the frequency of movement. You can google them to read in detail how they work. Basically it goes like this:

Low frequency movements (hard cornering) = hard damping
High frequency movements (sharp bumps) = soft damping

So you get very decent performance as well as decent comfort. Obviously they won't handle as well as proper coilovers or be as comfy as stock suspension with 16" rims. But I reckon they are the perfect compromise for street driving.

As the driver of any lowered car in Singapore, the 1st rule is never ever use the Bugis/Intercon entrance. That ramp is meant for cars with lorry wheelgaps and MPV/SUV's. Other than that, I've never had any problems with HDB humps or any other carpark ramps. BUT, you MUST slow down to a crawl when negotiating them, as well at go at them at an angle if you suspect the incline is quite extreme. You'll be surprised at how easy it is to clear seemingly impossible inclines. My car has one of the lowest front drops I've seen locally (no finger can go in) and I do just fine. These are the few things that you have to get used to.

I got my set at Juzz For Cars. I paid $1800 including installation and alignment. Cheap or expensive, you do your own research and decide for yourself.

This is how the drop with FSD's and EibachProkit springs looks like:

Re: shocks n suspension

koni fsd was originally designed to work with OEM springs so i don't think there'll be any issues.

Re: shocks n suspension

If we have a chance to meet, I will taxi you around to feel the ride :)
