Shocking high FC for my 520i e60- need help

hi all

i m doing a shocking 6.5km/l to 7km/l for my 04 e60 520i. Is there anyway to reduce the fuel consumption? it is a 2.2litre and it cannot be higher than a 523.

my full tank do only 400km

Should i put in broquet or air filter to improve the fc? and if i use ron95, will it affect the performance?

Actually, the reverse is true. Bigger engines are less stressed and moves the car around with much less effort. People I know that have 3 litre BMW's have much better FC than those who have 2 litre BMW's.

The single most important factor that determines your FC is your right foot. Drive like you're driving Miss Daisy, and you will see a drop in FC. All that broquet stuff doesn't really work as proven time and time again. A high performance air filter let's your engine breathe better, and more air = more fuel.

You should count your lucky stars. I can't even hit 300km a tank with my E46 320i. If I gun my car often, I can only see 200km per tank...

One of the more important factors is what kind of driving you do. If its mainly city driving during peak hours, then expect that kind of FC.... but if its mostly highway driving, it should be better...

Another factor is whether you 'gun' your car at traffic lights....If that's your habit, then expect FC to be around there....

i did a mixture of both. What are your fc? is it about the same? i hardly gun the car as it is very heavy. is there any way to improve fc and performance?

Mine's a 525... average ranges between 7km/l - 8.1km/l... The furthest I've gone on one full tank is 550km with about 40km on 'reserve'....

Normally, at least 500km on one full tank......

My FC

520i: 7.5 km/l avg city crawl, best ever, run to Penang 10.3 km/l
IS250: 10 km/l avg city crawl (avg spd 28km/h!), run from BT to Sengkang over cny weekend, 13km/l.
BMW claiming 25% better FC for upcoming DI engines? I believe it.

Nasty. I'm getting an average of 8.32km/L for my early '90s 318is (manual). That's for city driving, with an ECU chip that squeezes another 10% from the engine (via ignition re-map).
